Diaper Problems

I personally used the pampers cruisers once and will never use them again. That is the same thing that happened to me. I would suggest personally.. Moving up a size in diapers and using Pampers Baby Dry.. I have a 16 month and a 2 month old and that is what I do with them.. When they start blowing out the diapers we move up a size. It has worked well for us. You will love the baby dry diapers if you love pampers...

For us that usually meant we needed to go up to the next size diaper - even if my son hadn't reached the "weight" limit on them. Try that instead of switching brands - I found Pampers Cruisers to to be the best anyway - Good Luck!

I am going to repeat probably what everyone here said but I use Huggies (supreme) on my daughter who is now 9 months because I find the back top flap is stretchy and "hugs" her backside to keep it all in. Pampers just has a straight back with no elasticity to keep it conformed onto her backside. I saw a few people recommend cosco/kirkland brand which I think I might try too.

Try switching brands. I was told Huggies are better for girls and Pampers for boys. We use Pampers Baby Dry size 5 for day and a larger size 6 at night Pampers Cruisers. with a Good Nite over the Cruisers at night for our 27 month old. We haven't had that problem.

Pampers Cruisers were our favorite diapers. And yes, we too had the same problems you are having. When it started happening regularly we'd buy the next size up and that solved the problem for us.

I personally dont like Pampers. They always leaked or poop went up the back and to top it off they gave my daughter a rash. I switched to Huggies - it has a little flap in the back of the diaper .... almost blocks the poop from going up the back (ha ha).

As everyone has said try going up a size. My son is ten months today and we use to have this problem all the time until my sister told me to go up a size and the problem was solved. The weight measurements can be tricky to go by, we use the Berkley&Jensen brand(BJ's wholesale club), and if we go off the weight on the box my son would be in size 4 (22lbs to 27lbs)...he weighs about 23 pounds. However i have begun to realize that once he hits the lower number in the recommended weight it's time to move up a size. You wouldn't think that the size 5 (27lbs and up) would fit well but they are great!

Every time any 3 of my kiddos pooped out of the diaper, it was about time for us to move up a size. The only time my little one does it now is if she's in the exersaucer, then it goes all the way up the back no matter if the diaper is too small or not.

I don't know if you belong to Costco, but I LOVE their store brand of diapers, Kirkland Signature brand. I use them for both my girls and I've never had the problem you described. They are cheaper in bulk, too - a box of over 100 is $34. They come in four packs in a huge box. Hope this helps!

I had these same problems with my son. Whenever I would have "leak" issues, both poop and pee, I would just go out and buy the next size up. I would use up what I had for day time use and then use the bigger size at night. I had the problem more with pee than anything else. Going to the next size always worked.

The first thing that came to mind when I read your post was - try the next size up. She may have just grown out of that size diaper. Sometimes it seems like they grow out of a size overnight!

Since every baby is shaped differently, different diapers are going to fit them best. Certainly huggies and pampers are great brands, as is Luvs (basically the exact same as pampers baby dry. Usually people swear by a certain brand, but I think all it has to do with is what kind of diaper fits their baby the best.

Ultimately, you'll have to shop around, and try different brands. (if you decide that sizing is not the issue) I WISH that all brands made a trial size pack which you could buy in order to see if their brand works for you - but I have not found any yet. Don't take anyone's word on a good/bad brand - its all about which brand is going to fit your baby best!!!

My son is a pee machine. I have found that Pampers Cruisers really are the best diapers around. Have you tried moving up a size? That's what I had to do. The bigger diaper gave more area for absorption. Hope that helps!

I never liked Pampers, even though they are top notch. Both my kids wear Huggies. I like the red box of Huggies (more expensive) for babies because they have lots of gathers and seem to form to their shape better. So try some other brands, or even try the next size up. I always knew when we were ready for the next size because the poop and pee would fly!

I use mostly cloth diapers, however, when we travel to see my family in the USA (my husband, children and I live in Canada currently) we take disposeables along for the ride.

I found that I could only use Pampers while they were moving very little, and even then we had several diaper blow outs resulting in massive icky mess all over the outfits, car seats, crib etc. So, when using disposeables we prefer Huggies. Once moving a lot the huggies supreme tend to work the best to contain messes. With our children I've noticed a phase... Huggies Regular diapers until crawling stage, then crawling and early walking stage we had to use the Huggies Supreme to keep everything in tact, then once they were a bit older and walking/running and beginning potty training we were able to switch back to the regular huggies. Also if your child is on the verge of the next size up, try it and see if they just needed a bit of extra room to hold the mess in.

Again, we mostly use cloth diapers though, and with the cloth diapers I make I rarely have a diaper blow out. They (thankfully!) contain the icky messes and are easier to change and not hard to wash... so I've been very happy with using cloth. Ironically it has saved me many loads of laundry! (Since I'm washing the diapers and not the 4 or more outfits per day that we were washing otherwise).

I found I had better luck with Huggies diapers with my daughter, but Pampers were better for my son. My son is now 9.5 months old and we've recently switched to Luvs diapers for him as they are much less costly than the Pampers. We've had good luck with the Luvs. Another thing is to make sure the diaper isn't too big and fits snugglg around the baby's waist and legs.

if you go up a size it will be easy to do this - fold the top of the diaper inward towards your babies skin (the part by her belly and lower back). this will help stop anything from 'escaping' the diaper.

I think you should go up a size or possibly even two. The weight guidelines on the packages are way off because the weight can be distributed differently. Personally, I'm a Huggies fan...worked great for both of my kids.

Is the leaking new or has it always been a problem? I find that when my daughter is growing out a particular size the diapers begin to leak. also, you could try another brand, we have switched back and forth between pamper cruisers and huggies supreme (much more absorbent than regular huggies).

I only used Pampers with my first son, and when my second one came along, money was a little tighter, so I "shopped around". What I found was this:

Luvs and the Target brand worked the best, and cost less than Pampers.

When I was pregnant, I was told "Pampers for boys, Huggies for girls". I did try Huggies but we had a leakage problem.

I guess I'm telling you to shop around - sorry. :(

My son is 22 months and we use Huggies Supreme ( I found they are more absorbent and thicker) and they work pretty good! They have leaked a few times but I would recommend them over the Pampers. I have used the Kirkland Signature diapers from Costco- i got them at a yard sale, and they were actually better than the Huggies-I just dont have a Costco membership yet!

Everyone gave good advice. I jsut want to add that SOMETIMES, the kid just has an explosive poop because they ate alot of something and it didn't come out every so often, but all at once. Obvisouly you can't remember your own diapers but I am sure there has been a time that you just HAD TO GO NOW! The results being quite extreme once in the bathroom? Sorry to get so graphic and personal but I moved up sizes and monitored diet and all that and it did help most times, however he is 2 1/2 and sometimes still he just has a HUGE one. Difference now is that we are working on potty training and he can tell/ indicate to me it is about to happen so we are quicker to get it taken care of.

Huggies worked better (less leaks) for my two daughters than Pampers OR Luvs. Although, I think the explosive poop happens no matter what brand you're using. :) (With my girls it was usually out the back...love when it happens at the dinner table!) I eventually switched over to the BJs brand of diaper, they're very similar to the Huggies and a whole lot cheaper. Hang in there, these types of accidents don't happen as often as they get older.

Well pretty much everyone has said the same thing - go up a size and/or try different brands. I myself started with Huggies and they didn't work at all, no matter what size. So I decided to try generics. Target is an excellent brand (the wipes are too) and work very well, as do BJ's brand. I know it's not necessarily cost effective, but if going up a size doesn't help, you may have to break down and try a few brands. Hopefully one of the first you try will work!

I have found the same problem with other diapers too. What works for me was making sure that the Diaper elastics were closer to her inner leg rather than on top of the thigh. Whatever, you don't use HUGGIES

i switched from pampers to luvs and have not had any leaks!

I find that the Pamper's Swaddlers (yellow box) work the best.

I remember those days when the poop would go everywhere!!
I do think we also switched to huggies, but that might have been for another reason. Try the bigger size diaper, that should fix your problem!

I use cloth diaper on my son. modern cloth diapers works wonders! as for dispo diaper we use is 7th generation. it works good too. so move up a size or try different brands...try 7th generation.. or go for cloth diaper and save earth :o)
