Diaper Bag - Cherryville,MO

My parents bring diapers, wet ones, a change of outfit, anything else their baby might need while with me, then they leave it there all the time. After that initial bringing of things, they will bring whole bags of diapers and wet one refill packages every couple of weeks. For the formula, I'd get a very small insulated bag that holds a couple of bottles with the milk in it and you can bring that back and forth daily for her to keep in the fridge while you are gone.

I use my nice bag for myself on weekends, etc. I sent the crappy, ugly, free bag the hospital gave me to daycare!

No need whatsoever to take a so-called "diaper bag" to daycare. I just use a cotton tote bag with a pocket on the front to take in cloth diapers, change of clothes, sunscreen, etc.--used to be binkies, bottles, blankets when she was little. Any reusable grocery bag or company/school totebag or backpack you already have would work just fine. You can put some tape with your child's name on it inside so they know who it's for and hang it in the cubby at the care center.

it's a personal preference. In my daycare, I have moms who leave their bags with me....so I have everything imaginable on hand. I have moms who bring just one day's worth of stuff in their bag. AND I have moms who bring me a case of diapers/wipes at a time.

Personally, I prefer having a ready supply of disposables stored here....AND a diaper bag for each child. We live in tornado alley, & I like having individual bags to carry downstairs with each storm siren. I also have a storm bag for myself......

Because this is an inhome daycare, I do have limited storage for each child. Most of my families have chosen me because they want a "home" atmosphere...& not a facility. They want it to look like a home with lots of toys. So for me, the bags work great. I line them up on a clothes tree or on a bench (I'm notorious for moving furniture around & the kids love it!).

The contents of the bags vary. The basics are: bottles, food, a few extra diapers/wipes, bibs, extra clothes, diaper cream, etc. Some moms store Tylenol/Motrin in their bags.....which means that I have to be vigilant in keeping the bags away from the kids.

& as for cheap bag vs. expensive: it's what you're carrying in/out of the daycare - what do you want to be seen in? Once it's in there, nobody is going to play with it. Nobody is going to mess with it. What's the big deal? I don't get it! Peace.......

Well I used to work in a daycare when I was young and there were lots of moms that didn't leave a bag at the daycare at all. All the kids had a shelf or basket with their name on it that kept all of their stuff. If the moms brought pre-made bottles they went into the fridge and if they had formula, empty bottles, change of clothes, diapers or anything else that all just went into their basket and then we would let them know when they were running low on diapers or that we had to change their clothes so next time bring more. So most Moms would walk in with their diaper bag put stuff away then take their diaper bag with them.

I decided to take my son a little bag for all of his things, but after a week I just took it back because they ignored it. They just took his diapers, wipes, bottle, and formula out and put in their kitchen area and diaper station. I had extra clothes, his favorite toys (labeled of course) a second of his favorite blanket (this they did use after a day and realized he was a mamma's boy), So yeah, just find out what they want there and call it good. You don't leave your bag there.

When mine were in daycare, they had us bring in a box of diapers and wipes and 1 or 2 extra outfits and any other supplies they used regularly at the beginning, and then just replenish it as needed. They had sheets they sent home with the kids saying what they did/ate that day, what kinds of activities they did, etc., and at the bottom there was a section where they would put what/if they needed anything to be brought in. I don't know how it would work with BM, mine were weaned before daycare, and I don't know if this is standard procedure for daycares, my kids only went to the one.

I would just get a cheap bag.

My clients all use the free bag from the formula companies that they get at the hospital to bring to my house.

I wouldn't leave your bag at daycare either. You bring a stash of supplies with your child's name/initials on them and leave them there in a cubbie or basket. Then you replenish them as needed. I always considered anything that went to daycare as "disposable" - we bought an extra blankie to leave there and kept ours at home in the crib. I never brought our favorite toys, clothes, etc.

If you have one of those bags that the hospital/formula company gives you use that for daily bottles. If not, buy a cheap one or use a small cooler/refrigeration bag. (You can easily buy one off ebay too.)

Another think to consider, I think we all bought/got "the big bag" to use for diapers...and quickly regretted dragging so much stuff everywhere. I have a Fisher Price backpack style bag which was MUCH smaller, compact and cheaper - which I was willing to leave at daycare. I STILL USE this bag now, it's awesome. The big bag is still around too, it's mostly sat in the trunk of my car...LOL.

go to target and get a cheap bag.

Just go to the hobby store and pick up a cheap tote bag. Your child doesn't care how fashionable the bag is or isn't, and neither does your care provider. It will be reasonably durable, wash up easily, and you can throw it away and get a new one when it wears out.

Ours (preschool) just wanted thing in ziplocked bags with his name written on them.

However, when my mum, the nanny, or a friend was watching my son I would bring the diaper bag and leave it with him, and then take it home with me when I picked him up.
