Does anyone else have trouble finding daycare. I cannot find any in-home or center care for my infant daughter. We live in Chicago. Affording a private Nanny is just too much, and all the daycare services are all full. Please if anyone can offer help!

What can I do next?

It sounds like you are very specific about what you are looking for in a childcare. Although you spefically want a center or in home I can offer my private care as an option for you if you are in the area. I am home with my two girls and I am an early childhood teacher by trade with a masters degree in early ed. and over 10 years in the classroom and currently still teach K-1 on sundays. I love children and right now only watch one little girl one day a week. Otherwise your child would receive very individual attention considering he or she would be the only other child to care for. I also am willing to provide food (not formula) for children in my care. We eat mostly organic and are wheat-free. Please let me know if I can be of any help or if this option interests you.

We use New Zion Childcare Academy on the near west side. Http://www.daycare.newzionmbc.com

I'm sure they have a waitlist, but I don't know how long it is. We were on the waitlist for a few months, and during that time my husband and I staggered our schedules as much as we could and used a babysitter. The last month of waiting, we had to find something more permanent (our sitter got unreliable), so she went to Taylor Tots daycare, which was less than ideal. I was so happy to get the call that she had a spot at New Zion.

I am not sure of your location but we have a great in-home childcare provider in Lincolnwood.

M., I'm looking for the same options. We currnetly have a nanny and are interested in getting our 14 month old in daycare. All the facilities are full...that's crazy! I'm faced with the same obstacles.
You could look for nanny sharing on Craig's list, one of my friends found this to be the solution for her.

Hi Maria, I'm not sure how far you are from Oak Park, but my friend is a licensed in-home childcare provider and she does have an opening for an infant at this time!

Email me for more details. Thank You
