Thank you for your responses. I did schedule a visit with Dr. Whitmore & he was great! Unfortunately, I am going to have to take my son to a dental surgeon so now I am on a new quest :)

We go to Dr. Bruce Weiner - their staff is great. Give them a call to see if they are equipped to care for your child. He is in the Ft Worth area though . . .

Hi D.,

I don't know if my doctor works specifically with mentally challenged patients, but he did work on both of my kids at the ages of 2 and 4, which was certainly challenging. He has a very calming demeanor and is very patient.

His receptionist is also very kind and can tell you if they can see your son or not. Please let them know I referred you and let me know if it works out!

Peace and Joy,
M. Sheehan
