Please call your doctor now. Like Jennifer said, it could be meconium. Do not dismiss the seriousness of this. Sometimes, when babies "poop" in the womb it is a sign of distress. Good luck, and please let us now when you have that sweet little baby in your arms!

Yellowish greenish could be attributed to an infection. You obviously DON'T want that spreading to the baby. See the link below. Call your OB after hours and see if they want to see you ASAP.

Your mucus plug is generally colorless and odorless so this doesn't sound like that.

Call your doctor NOW, if you haven't already - that color could mean meconium (which is baby poop in the amniotic fluid) and is dangerous to the baby if not caught in time.

I'm not sure, but I believe the "yellowish greenish color mucus" is meconium. I'd call your OB ASAP. If it is meconium, that means your baby pooped and they'll more than likely want to deliver your baby soon.

Good luck and congrats!!!

Sounds like your mucus plug. Mine looked like a giant booger when it came out (sorry, TMI). I lost mine with my 1st when I was about a week away from labor.

Sounds like you're losing your mucus plug. You didn't say how far along you are. You can lose your mucus plug a little at a time or all at once a month before delivery. You can also be slightly dilated for a month as well. This only means that you'll be having a baby soon. Not necessarily very soon. Stick with your due date. When your water breaks that's when you need to call a doctor right away as the baby will need to be delivered within 24 hours or so.

****I wanted to add that everyone talking about meconium, never heard of the color of the plug having anything to do with that. With my first son, my plug was white, yellow and green, like firm boogers. It came out a little at a time for a month. The docs knew and it was never questioned. It was normal! With my second son, it came out all at once when labor started. It was clear like sticky snot. Sorry to be blunt. That was normal too. It can have a tinge of blood as well. All normal. I'm wondering if women are picking up on an old wives tale or something. Meconium doesn't happen very often at all, but it does. It can happen at any time, not just overdue babies. Never heard of that either. I'm 46, have 5 kids and have known a ton of women over the years with pregnancies. Do not let some women scare you. If you do feel the need to call the doc to lesson your worries, do so. But do not worry! Everything sounds normal to me!

Please do not listen to Beck regarding the possible meconium issue. I had my daughter born at 35 weeks so nowhere near overdue and she had meconium in her gestational sac. I hope all is going well with you and your little one.

Its perfectly normal. Its your mucus plug. you may be 3cm dilated but it could still be weeks til u have the baby. both those happened to me. and it has nothing to do with merconium. how could it? even if your baby did, unless your water breaks you wont know. if you could know by the mucus the doctors would obviously check for it or tell you to check for it. i had both those and my baby didnt. Good luck on your delivery!

If your water breaks-the baby could come rather quickly-best of luck!

Could be your mucous plug. For some people it just looks like mucous and some people it looks a little bloody with it. I never lost mine until I started actually dilating. Check your contractions and keep track of them. Even f they are not painful...if you feel your stomach harden, again, even with no pain associated, that is a contraction.

It is my understanding that meconium is not typical in deliveries unless you are overdue. Over due babies are at a higher risk for that and it is an issue because they can aspirate it and get lung infections (from what I have ben told).

It is always best to err on the side of caution and call you OB on call. If your water breaks...call them on the way to the hospital.

I hate to sound boring or alarmist, but if you are concerned call the doc's office or l&d floor where you are delivering. They may be able to answer you over the phone or even have you come in to get checked.
You do loose the mucus plug near the time, but the yellow green color is not what I remember seein but again every woman is different

It sounds like this is your mucus plug. I never saw mine, but it sure has been talked about it a lot on this site.

You need to go get checked. Do you feel your baby moving? Drink some orange juice and lay down on your left side. (That should get baby moving.) If you don't feel the baby within 10 minutes, you should go to the hospital.

Good luck with the delivery!
