Hi,
That is a tough one. I wd choose one that is reasonably good as well as quite conveniently located so that I will not have too much trouble going there and back, everyday.
I am in the process of deciding which nursery school my son should go to in NYC. Do I go with one that is conveniently located? Or do I go with the better school?

Teaching philosophies in NYC schools vary greatly so I would make sure you agree with their methods and it is a good fit for your family. I would go with the better school provided the location is reasonable to you and your child is a good little commuter.
Hi Samantha,
If you could get the benefit of both, go for it. If not, I'd choose the better school. You'll be so satisfied with the results. Here's my story, that I'll try to keep short. When I had to make that same choice, I chose convenience (walking distance). Well, I later learned that my child was not really getting what was being offered. How did I know? Instead of telling me about her day, I heard a lot of secular songs coming from her, and she was familiar with tv shows that I know I didn't expose her to. It's just not cute coming from a 3 year-old. But when I quizzed her on her colors, shapes, etc., she was clueless. I quickly yanked her out of there, inconvenienced myself a little bit, and took her to another school further away. How do I know it's a better school? She's now 4 and is legibly writing her name, singing nursery rhymes, learning French and explaining the dynamics of tornadoes to me---all for only $20 more a week than I was paying the other "nursery school". Hope this helps in making your decision. Good luck.
Do you plan on commuting to NYC from NJ?
