Hello Moms, I am starting doing some research/homework on a great daycare /preschool in the Carrollwood, Westchase, Countryway or Citrus Park Area. My daughter is a social butterfly, within few months or so she should be ready. Any advise and suggestions on daycares and the transition (good and bad) would be greatly appriciated. Thank you!

I used to live in Westchase and there are some great daycares around there though I do recommend getting your daughter on a waiting list ASAP as most of them are booked solid. Contrary to the previous poster however, I would not recommend Primrose. While I did not send any of my children there, I have spoken to way too many parents who pulled their children out of there for various reasons. Also, they are the most expensive in the area. Maybe things have changed there. Smart Start off Racetrack Rd. is a great place. They have a huge facility and more reasonable pricing. Kids R Kids is good too but more expensive and a longer waiting list. Childlife on Countryway was pretty good when my son was there and they are a little more reasonable.

Before you choose a school, you need to drop in for a visit at the ones you are interested in. Also, do a search for reviews on the various schools and check out their records with Childcare Services.

Beata,
I am not sure how close you will be to Westchase, but I heard wonderful things about Primrose. You can look it up.
I do have one good advice for you that worked for me and my son....don't stick around when you drop them off. It makes it harder on you and them. I learned to just take him, kiss him before opening the door and saying have a good day and putting him into the door. Or since your daughter is a little younger you can sit her with a toy then kiss her and say goodbye, or give her to one of the teachers. I did have to do that at first. But whatever you do, don't stick around. A few minutes after you are gone, she will be fine. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

I am thinking of putting my boys in the Montessori Early Learning Center on Hudson Lane just off of Dale Mabry. ###-###-####

we are relocating form the Palm Beach area, I grew up in Tampa and this is close to where we are going to be staying until we buy.

Let me know what you find out. The only thing I don't like about htis program for my 1 year old is that there is no morning nap and he still needs to sleep about 2 hours after waking.

Community Montessori school is a wonderful place for young children. They have a toddler program that is excellent. The school goes from approximately 18 months through to 9th grade. My boys are now in 7th grade and have been at the school for quite a while. The school really has formed a great community. Although its not in any of the areas you mentioned it is just a short drive from Westchase.
