Hello all,
I recently found out im pregnant again. After 13 years since my last child was born. Yes I thought I was done. I have a job that I love but it doesnt pay much. I am wondering what is the going rate for a 6mon baby for child care. It would be 5 days a week about 7.5 hours a day. I really want to stay home but we all know how hard that can be to lose an income. I am just trying to figure out if it is worth paying someone to raise my newest little member. Hope there is someone out there that can help.
Thanks

Hi M.

Congratulations!! You know you have a great support team
with your oldest son and daughter too.

If you are able to afford to quit your job after Christmas etc., to be a SAHM I myself would be a FULL TIME MOMMY to baby number three and enjoy every coo.

I work at home on my computer and if you have high speed internet and unlimited long distance I can show you
how to add an extra weekly paycheck with flexable schedules.

Oh you know how exciting for you and your family..
Congratulations again and God Bless!!

Warm hugs
C.

I looked at various centers like Tutor Time, Kinder Care, and Bright Horizons in Tempe and Chandler. The rates are about $225-250 / week or about $1000 per month for infants. Infants generally are full M-F slots since they use cribs which are assigned to each baby. I know in home care can cost less, but unless you are have good referrals that can be hard to research.
My daughter has been in day care since Oct 07 when she was 3 months old.
Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

For my home daycare I charge $150 a week for infants. You can find some daycares that will charge you less, more like $125 a week (I charge one family only $115 per week for their infant) It really depends on what you are looking for. If you want someone to do more activities and provide food, etc. then they might charge more. I would definitely look into Child Care Resource and Referral or Craigslist to find your provider. Be careful with Craigslist, as a lot of the providers aren't qualified or certified. I would definitely make sure that your provider has a fingerprint clearance card and CPR and First Aid certification. You might want to find a provider that has a fingerprint clearance card for ALL adults that will be in the home.

A corporate/commercial daycare can charge over $200 per WEEK for childcare. It is all in your preference.

Congratulations on the new baby. I also do daycare in the South Chandler area and first would recommend that if you do end up using a daycare provider please go to www.azchildcare.org. All the providers on their list have been fingerprinted through DPS, CPR/First Aide Certified and been background checked by CPS at the very minimum. As for cost of daycare, I charge $160 for full time care which is 5 days a week and my hours are 6:30 - 5:30, this is also what my SIL charges but she is getting ready to raise her rates to $175 per week for full time. Good luck on decided what you are going to do, I know the decision is a hard one I worked with my first 2 and only had my 3rd because I was home anyway!

Hi M.! Congrats on the pregnancy! I used the same home day care for almost 2 years for my son until he started school. She is off Cooper and Ray. I just called her and she charges $130 per week for babies which includes food. Here is her number if you'd like to hold on to it: Teresa ###-###-####.

best of luck to to you with your pregnancy!
