Looking for a good daycare for my 15month old that she can go thru to kindergarden. I want her to be in a learning but fun environment with low student to teacher ratio and loving people. Basically I want the best -- any suggestions?
I am in Surfside so anywhere in Surfside down to Pawleys Island will work.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We have been accepted at Belin Learning Center. We are very excited and it is also part of our church. The classes are very focused -- she will be in the older 1 year olds - they seperate 12mont-18month, 19mont-2year, 2year-2.5year, and 2.5year - 3year. So I really like that. Now we have to go thru the switch which I am dreading!!! Wish me luck!

Hi. I was looking for daycares a while back and I didn't know much about the Myrtle Beach area and the daycares. I got a lot of good referrals for Gateway Academy. It was just out of my area for me. Hope this works for you. Good Luck!!!

Hi. I highly recommend Garden City Montessori. I am not sure of the starting age for children to attend but it is a wonderful school with a very good program. They even have a kindergarten program. I also believe that is a good montessori school in pawleys too. Good luck!

I am moving to Surfside Beach in July. I had inquired on a Discussion board on the Myrtlebeachonline.com and this is a response I received.
"Hi yes I know of a daycare located in Surfside that is a wonderful daycare. The name is Rymes and Rainbows. They have a super staff and do have the opendoor policy. I think what alot of people tend to overlook is the teacher/child ratio. It is very important to know, that you need to check to see what those are in the age groups of your children. You can do that by contacting our DSS (Department of Social Services)office located in Conway S.C., they can also tell you about any claims against any daycare, any violations,or anything else you may want to know. I do know that Rymes and Rainbows does not have a big turnover in staff, the staff is friendly,CPR and First Aid certified, they keep up on there courses threw out the year at our local college, and are all certified to work in a daycare system. It is very clean and they stick to a wonderful teaching system. They have also won the award of being best on the beach. They are on the food program, they get delivery from a food company, so its no running to the grocery store everday.Another important issue is that alot of daycares and babysitters sit children in front of a TV all day, and I can tell you that, that daycare has a schedule to go by daily and are not stuck in front of a TV all day. Check them out or if you would like more info from me get in touch with me. Rymes and Rainbows telephone number is 843-650-6670"
Give them a call. I was going to put my 3 yr old there, but they won't take my 6 yr old - no afterschool care.
Good Luck.

My daughter attended Gateway last year for the summer. She was five at the time.
