Yes, there is the "morning after" pill, sold over the counter for about $40.00. I believe it is behind the counter but definetely not a prescription.
Just wondering if there is a next day pill? Is it sold over the counter at any pharmacy? Thank you!
Thank you for all the messages. Just wanted to let you know that the ‘next day pill’ is a contraceptive – just like a birth control pill. I know many of you have different opinions and I respect that. This is a great website where we can exchange ideas and information; so thank you very much for your kind response to my question.
I ended up going to the Planned Parenthood here on Fannin St. and got ‘Plan B’ for $38. CVS was charging $50.

M. C - don't let some of the harsh comments bother you. No one knows your situation and therefore they shouldn't judge you. It is your choice to do what is best for yourself and the child you already have. It's so easy for others to judge until they walk in your shoes.
Just a word of advice to all the readers to this post. M. C only asked a question in relation to this pill. We don't know if she is asking this for herself, a family member, or writing a research paper. This site is suppose to be used for support and helpful information and some based off of personal experience. Please take to heart that M. C may or may not be going through a difficult time, so if you want to express something, use your words to their fullest and say a prayer for her and her family rather than express judgement before you know the facts.
Yeah there is.. and I do believe it is OTC. Only issue is that it works best when taken within 24 hours of unprotected intercourse. Up to 72 hours later and the chances of it working have decreased significantly.
Anyway I'm gonna avoid the drama below and just say that the woman just asked a simple question not for a lesson in morality or religion.
took this pill once (maybe twice) when I was in high school. I got it from planned parenthood. Make sure u eat something before u take it cause it made me throw up from an empty stomach. N not that u asked, but I am against abortion, pro prevention. And this is a form of prevention, people really should take a biology class before being so harsh.
Are you OK? I only ask because I know what reasons - multiple reasons, would make me consider this pill. I pray you are OK. If you need help, please let me know.

CVS carries it behind the counter just walk up and ask the pharmacist.
You can get it through your doctor or go to Planned Parenthood.
Call your pharmisist or the local planed parent hood. They will also explain the emotional effects. You can tell them its an emergency. I wish you would have elaborated on your situation. If it was for you or for someone you know. Also I think it might be free from planned parent hood. God bless Good luck and I am praying for you and hope you make the right desision even if a wrong desision was made that might have gotten someone preggers!
It is in the pharmacy. You do not need a precription, but you have to get it from the pharmacist.
The only one that I have heard of when I was younger was from Planned Parenthood.
There is something called "Plan B" that I've read about. It needs to be taken within 72 hours of having unprotected sex and is said to be about 89% effective. It is available without prescription if you're over 18, from the pharmacist (you have to ask for it).
I don't really know anything about it other than I have seen it advertised in magazines, so I can't vouch for it.
Good luck!
Not in the US, but in Mexico and Canada I believe it is.
Sold at Walmart over the counter.
There is. I think it's called Plan B or the "morning after pill" Go to the pharmicist and ask him. Usually you have to take it 24-72 hours after intercourse, and it's going to make you nauseous. Basically it's an overload on a regular birth controll pill. If you can't find it call your gyn, or you can go to the emergency room.
there is, you can get it at planned parenthood. it makes you nauseaus, so make sure you've got space to nap afterward.
There is a pill known as the "day after pill"! You can go to any pharmacy or even to walmart and ask for the
Plan B packet! It is about $40! It is to prevent preganacy within 72 hours from having unprotected intercourse.
Yes, there is a morning after pill and it is called Plan B. You must take in within 72 of having unprotected sex, but the sooner the more effective it is. It is actually 2 pills that you take 12 hours apart I believe. It is available at any pharmacy, I think and it is sold over the counter although it is kept behind the counter so you have to ask the pharmasist for it.
At my hospital people come to the ER to get it but I heard its over the counter now so they have or will quit administering it through our ER.
