She will be 3 in August and has been taking naps without her diaper now for about a month or so with no accidents at all. The last 2 nights she has asked to sleep without a diaper but I did not let her. Is this about the right age to start this??

What can I do next?

I was always told to go by the rule of if they routinely wake up dry in the morning then they are ready. Haylee was potty trained completely at 20 months, and only had one accident (at school) in all that time. (She is 4 now) so let her go without, but explain to her that if she wets the bed she will have to wear a pull up for a little bit longer AND help mommy with the laundry that day. :)

I agree with the other moms, and make sure you have a mattress protector on under the sheet! I bought one from Garden Ridge and it has worked wonders! (My son has only had a couple of accidents)

Just don't let her drink too much too close to bed time, and make sure she goes potty right before she goes to bed and she should be fine.

Good luck!

I would let her try, too. Just make sure you have a mattress protector on. I also slip a couple of absorbent towels under the fitted sheet. Sounds like she is ready! Good luck!!!

If she is routinely waking up dry in the mornings, then she doesn't need to wear a diaper to bed anymore. If you are really not wanting to deal with the occasional "accident," get a waterproof pad to put over her sheet. I got one for my daughter through Garnet Hill. It was a soft washable cloth that I put over the sheet. If she wet it, I just tossed it into the washer and dryer. I don't know if Garnet Hill still carries this product, but you could probably find something similar from a medical supply store.

If she wants to, then let her. Make sure that her mattress is protected. Has she been dry in the morning?

My daughter also asked, I think she was about the same age. She has NEVER had an accident at night!

Good Luck,
H.

I think she should be fine. A child can be potty trained as soon as they are two years old. So, she should have no problems as long as she is ready, which from the sound of it seems like she is.

if you are worried about accidents, just put a waterproof sheet over the mattress (under her reg sheet).. Good luck! :)

Let her do it. My son was completely potty trained during the day and nap time when all of a sudden one night he started to throw a fit about having to wear a pull up. I tried talking to him about it and telling him he needed it and he still refused. So I finally gave in but told him that if he wet the bed he would be cleaning his own sheets. He has never had an accident since that night and he will be 5 as of tomorrow and he did this right before his 3rd birthday. If you want to make sure just wake her up right before yall go to bed and set her on the potty.

Let her! When I potty trined my son I only put on pull-ups at night for about a week and to my surprise he has only had one accident. Just buy a waterproof matress pad.
