hi mamas!!!
My little one just celebrated his fourth birthday!!! and i was wondering if any one had a creative or fun way for him to do his thank you cards. thank you for your help.
I read somewhere to use some of his artwork, the ones you don't want, as cards. Just fold them up and have him sign it and send.
Burn CD's of some of music that you played at the party or your little ones favorite music and copy a favorite picture of him or the party and use it as the skin on the CD and send it along with the thank you note. OR if you have a great picture from the party... a group picture or the BDAY Boy blowing out the candles, or better yet, I try and include a picture of the BDAY Boy and the guest and mail it to them with the thank you note... Kids, and relatives LOVE to get pictures of themsleves with their "someone special". Walmart has a great service where you can print the pic out with a special festive boarder and I use the back to write the thank you's on. Good Luck!
When my kids were little
I bought unlined BIGGER index cards
(you'll want to meet or exceed allowable post cards size).
Kids made pictures on one side,
and sometimes wrote with pen OVER/ON the drawings.
I addressed the other side, stamped them,
and popped them in the mail.
As they got older they liked to draw on one side
and use it as if it were a "regular" postcard
by writing on the left of the addressed side of the card.
LASTLY if you have a bunch you need to make
(some folks have huge parties),
you can take a photo of your child,
or the child's artwork,
and load it to VistaPrint.com
Post cards they make are beautiful,
and for the minimum amount of cards,
you only pay shipping.
We have always turned artwork into thank you and birthday cards for friends and relatives. My girls love to paint and draw, so we have plenty of artwork around.

It sounds like you already had the party but I remember one year, we took pictures of my son and his friends as he was opening gifts or throughout the party. When we mailed the thank you cards, we included a photo of my son and the person who gave the gift, or my son with the gift. It's a nice touch and his friends liked having pictures of themselves and my son for their room... (just a matter of printing doubles so not costly...) Also, I suggest allowing your son to 'sign' each card (even if it's just a scribble). It allows them participate in the thank you and let's them know how important it is to say thank you (paving the way for later years)! In a day and age when some people don't send thank you's at all, I think it's wonderful that you are looking for an inventive way to accent your own thank you's... What a great mom! :-)
For my grandson's first birthday, I took a picture of him AT the party and printed it on very stiff card stock, then cut them and made "post cards" out of them. My daughter wrote the thank you note and mailed them. I still see them on some of our family member's refrigerators.

Someone else suggested this - if you have pictures of the kids at the party or as someone said opening the gifts, you can even just include a print in a regular thank you card or one you make.
I've mounted them inside thank you cards and I think it's very personal, and you can get as creative as you want. I remember one bday party I had my sister take a picture of every kid with a large Pokemon cut out we had set up and I sent those individual pics in our thank you cards. Very fun.
If you don't have pics of everyone, taking a picture of your child playing with the gift they gave is an awesome idea. I've done that for Christmas thank yous.
If you are crafty you can make any kind of card (with or without pictures) on your computer or using other materials.
Have fun!
Hi M.,
I once did thank yous online through Kodak Gallery. I took a picture of my daughter wearing or playing with the gift, then made it into an e-card through the site saying thank you. It was personalized... and cheap!
