A good friend of mine does craniosacral therapy. She kindly offered me a session a couple of weeks ago after I told her I had been suffering from insomnia, and a few other bothersome symptoms. All I can say is, WOW. Have you ever experienced it? What was it like for you? I'll tell you about mine if you tell me about yours!

So What Happened?

TJ, my experience was a lot like yours. Afterwards I kept saying to my friend, "I don't know what you just did to me, but that was incredible!" She somehow gave me the intense urge to move my arms in jerky movements. By the end my whole body was shaking and moving. At first it was like having a scratch I wanted to itch; the urge to move was powerful. By the end the tremors seemed involuntary and they lasted a few minutes after the session ended. Tears fell during, and I certainly had a big emotional release after the session. I feel as though I held back a bit because I was self-conscious about moving around and tearing up. I didn't know that could happen. I really believe that we hold traumas in our bodies, and they need to be released. I'm starting to believe that CST can facilitate that release. It was by far, the WEIRDEST thing I have ever experienced. My friend truly has a gift. She does CST for autistic kids at her school. She is amazing! I've been sleeping better since the session, and I've had improvements in other areas as well. Thanks everyone, for sharing!

It's hard to explain what actually happens to a person in a CST therapy session. I do recommend it to anyone that has an open mind and wants to relieve symptoms of practically anything. My session was awesome and it just felt like my whole body melted like butter.

i loved it. it's VERY subtle, sometimes you can hardly feel what they're doing, but i usually would fall asleep during it which is rare for me. if the session is free, by all means give it a try!

R.,

I'd love to hear about your experience! I'm considering doing this again for TMJ. I had it done recently for the first time, but I thought the touch was way too light to change anything. I got a huge headache during it, that quickly went away, and felt great right afterwards, but that night my TMJ was the same as always. I think I need to try someone else who does it.

I was in a fatality car accident, and was depressed and in extreme pain daily. The first time I saw my physical therapist and she did cst, I cried afterward! I told my husband I didn't know what she did, but that it was the first time I felt it would be okay, that I could heal. Changed my life!

I was disappointed by my session. Other than feeling very relaxed during the session, I did not feel like it accomplished anything or relieved my pain. I'll be curious to read about other experiences. I've only done it once. Does it require multiple sessions?
