My daughter, Katrinah, has had a cough for nine days. Medicines don't work very well. She also complains of headaches and she gets really cold (by really cold i mean a tank top, a long sleeved tee,two warm sweaters, and a poncho).

What do you think it is? do you have any suggestions on what to do?

Yes. It is often environmental toxicity, and medicines will not work. Holistic practices will. Herbs (to chelate toxins) and nutrients (to strengthen your child's immunity) will help and rather quickly if correct items used.

I am a mom of a 4 yr old boy and the owner of a holistic wellness center in Redondo Beach and we see, and treat tons of children for similar issues all the time. Injuries to their head and tailbone weaken their body and make their nutrient needs higher than the RDAs and the environmental stuff we have in LA does the same.

We use only products from PRL with kids as these products are THE most natural available, internationally, and when used with QRA -precise, customization makes the child (or adult) better in a day (often just a few hours).

You can ask around, we have many clients in LA and some are on mamasource and Citymommy. When medicine doesn't work, why wouldn't you try something that comes from nature, and something that makes sense, such as boost the nutrients? FYI ALL adults are deficient in nutrients, so why wouldn't the same be true for children? It is sadly true. So, boosting nutrients allows your child the advantage that most do not have - pure health.

In 3 years my son has missed 2 days of school (between ages 2-4) due to illness - that is it.

We can certainly help you if you are ready to try something that works, makes sense and is natural and non-toxic.

Good Luck,

Namaste,

Not sure how old your little girl is, but from my experience with my 3-Year old and from advice from our pediatrician, if any symptom lasts longer than four days without a fever we go to the doctor.

My son has had chronic cough since he developed allergies and it was only by constantly going to the doctor that we were able to document the issues and come to a resolution.

I agree with the previous poster it could be something more serious and you should get her checked, chest infections/issues are not something you should let go without attention. Also I second the cough meds thing...some of them work for some of the symptoms but I hate trying to figure it out on my own.

I hope she feels better soon!

G., HINI is primarily respiratory. I would call your dr. and see what they advise. If nothing else, they may be able to give you a nebulizer for breathing treatments which offers wonderful relieve to a dry cough.

I would take her in to see the doctor. I just found out a friend of mine has pertussis. You never know these days!

Try vicks vapor rub (a thick layer) applied to the bottom of both feet and put a cotton sock over it at bedtime. I do this for my sons all the time and it supresses the cough for hours so they can sleep

Medicines? Cough suppressants? OTC?
Sighhhh . . . .
Poor Katrinah.
Have you called your regular medical provider
to describe her symptoms?
Is the cough "itchy-tickly throat"-type?
Deep/hollow from-the-lungs type?
What happened nine days ago that was different?
Have you looked for mold? allergies? dust? new pet?
The child needs medical assessment and treatment.
