My daughter is also three and goes to daycare twice a week so I can work part time. I pay $367 a month which is pretty average because she was in other places and the price range was just about the same give or take.
I am interested in sending my 3 year old to preschool twice a week. What is the average monthy rate?

I pay for 3 days a week 175.00 a month. But the average is about $175-185 per month for 3 days a week.
well you can c heck with area schools . I know in Ny there is free preschool . My 3 yr old goes 5 days a week to a program ran by Catholic Charity its 5 days a week though just 2 hours long. I think there aren't that many prek where u can send just a few days a week . Also Headstart is a great 4 day a week program i believe it's free also
C.,
I am East Stroudsburg, PA, and I don't know how much this varies from place to place. I have looked into a variety of schools here for me son for Sept., and have found that prices go from about 110/mo, or about $1,000 for the school year, up to the Montessouri by me, which is $4,500 for the school year, but that is a half day, 5 days program. You can find something in your price range, but it's a very wide range.

Hi, I wrote about Briar Hill Preschool in the previous note...The registration fee is $30 and the monthly rate for 2 days of week is $115 a month. I checked into one around by me in Jackson and they want $140 a month for 2 days. I thought Jackson would be cheaper but it is not and I know that Briar Hill is a good school. Hope this helps...
Im not sure where you are located, but I send my daughter to a day care center 4 days a week, from 8-3:45 because I work full time and it costs me $117 a week, but shes there all day, gets lunch and 2 snacks. She also learns more there than my niece who goes to a preschool.
Hi C.!
I've sent my daughter at 3 & my son at 3 to a preschool in Lincoln Park, NJ 2x's a week for about $117/month. It's a preschool, not a daycare. I will be sending my other son, who is 3, next year to the same school. They also offer a 4 yr old program that meets 3 days a week for $155/month. It's a wonderful school, both of my children who attend(ed) this school is/was very well prepared for Kindergarten. I am also a stay home mom.

there is a program called kidstart you send the kids all day just as though it was regular school. they have an open door policy where you can go in and check in on the kids whenever you feel the need to. it is also income based.
C.,
The average rate for two days a week is around 150-250. it pays off for both you and your child to send them 5 days. My son goes to Miss Barbara's Schoolhouse full time. He started in January. They pottytrained him, he can count to 14, sing his A-B-C's, etc. It goes on and on. My rate is 645/mo. I can drop him off as early as 7am - 6pm. Don't need to but that's their hours. I recommended them in the Mamasource resource section. Good luck.
Hi C., The best thing I ever did was send both of my kids to school at 2 1/2. It gave them a little freedom and me some sanity. My son will be 3 on the 13th. He goes to a Luthern Nursery school on Tuesdays and Thurdays for 2hrs 15mins each day and it costs $138 a month. They supply the snack, juice, crafts and even diapers or pull-ups. I found that the churches with nursery schools in them are more cost effective. Also, some school districts have a Universal Pre-School program that is free. Most of the time there is a waiting list, so you should look into it now for September if that is an option for you. Remember when you're looking for a school that you should be able to bring your child to the school and have him/her meet the staff and some of the other children. Although cost is a big factor, you want to make sure you choose the school that your "baby" is most comfortable with. I looked at about 4 different schools when my daughter started and of course, she liked the most expensive the best. But, for the $25 difference I was willing to spend it. I would've sent my son there also, but we moved and it is a little far from me now. The school I send my son to was recommended by a friend and her sister and also my local elementary school. Good Luck in your search.
WOW I can not believe they have preschool for 5 days a week. I pay a 1000 a year for 2X a week and that is for 2 hours each day.

I know most pre-schools are anywhere from $100 to $150 a month. Just start calling around in your area and get pricing and make apointments to see what kind of pre-school they are. Not all pre-schools are alike. Some are very regimented others are more play orinanted. Find one that suits you and your child.
Wow! Some of those prices are great! My babygirl is almost 3 and I've been researching daycare/preschool in my area. I've come up with an average of $200/week! I would love to find a place that's that much for a month! Of course that's for full time...7am-5pm. I think I might have to wait until she's 4 so she can go to headstart or pre-K. I'm in northern NJ. Does anyone know of some places that are more reasonable?
I send my daughters to preschool 5 days aweek and they charge $100 a month per child but that is 5 days a week it is less than that for two days its like I think 75 a month for 2 days maybe less .. That is the cheapest I found other places wanted 90$ a week for 2 days per kid that was way to expensive . Um wheredo you live I live in johnstown ny so I guess it dependes on where you live. I send my daughters to clover patch and I love it.

It really depends on what type of pre-school you are looking for and what area you live in. Prices vary widely. I'd say start researching preschools in your area to get an idea but you absolutely need to visit each one you are interested in to get a sense of what they offer. You should start NOW for the 2007-2008 school year as they tend to start their fall enrollment process around this time of year. If you wait until the spring you may find that many are full! Good luck!
Daycare/Preschool on a part-time basis is usually $42 a day. I have done some checking around the capital district area for rates and such. It is a hard choice, however the benefits your little one gets by socializing with kids their age is tremendous. My son is potty training right now and I really appreciate the teachers that are working with me. They want to know my son's homelife and make him as comfortable as they can while in their care. The best to you in your search. May you find more than you are in search for. M.
Hi, Most pre schools and pre K's are now federally funded. The cost should be very low and in the pre-K group you shouldn't have to pay anything. If you are going to a private school the fees can vary from a weekly rate to monthly. Twice a week should not be expensive. I don't have the exact cost. At this age it is actually day care and not pre school. I would not pay more that $30.00 per week. That would put you at a monthly of $120.00.
Good luck.
