Cooking Gadget

Okay I know I've seen a kitchen gadget that will break up ground beef as it is cooking. I can picture it but I do not know what the 'thingamajiggy' is called to begin to search for one. I thought Taste of Home carried it. If theydid, they no longer.

TIA!

What can I do next?

Not to self-promote, but Pampered Chef has that tool. We call it a Mix 'N Chop. It does exactly what you're talking about and it's a huge seller. I don't think I've seen it anywhere else. I don't want to post my website here as that might be against the rules, but if you send me a private message, I'll be happy to direct you to it.

I've never heard of that.
They probably sell it on those TV infomercials or something.

You are probably thinking of this thing:

It's cheap, but there's really no need for a special gadget for this.

I just use a heat proof cooking spoon or spatula.
You thaw the hamburger first (if it was frozen), then spread it out in the pan.
As it cooks you use the spoon to turn and chop up the meat.
Continue till it's no longer pink and you've chopped to the desired consistency.

Pampered Chef sells one and the owners of them swear by them. I just use a wooden cooking utensil.

They are bulky and grooved on the cooking end, like an old-fashioned hot chocolate mixer from Guatemala. Not that you know what that looks like either, but they are very similar.
