I have an Evenflo Triumph and LOVE IT! It's extremely easy to adjust and install. It is somewhat large, though but I think most convertable seats are.
I am searching for a convertible carseat for my 13 month old son. We have a Britax Roundabout that I'm basically happy with, but it is a little tight at the crotch belt and I'm concerned he will outgrow this seat before he reaches the weight limit. Has anyone else had this experience or can recommend another good convertible carseat?

The new marathon has a new longer crotch strap. Check it out!
I agree with Kim, I also have one of the Graco Nautilus 3 in 1 and my 14 month old daughter loves it! It even still reclines so it is easier for them to fall asleep in! But I also have a Graco My Ride 65 for my other daughter who is 3 months old. It is a back/forward facing carseat. It says to keep them rear facing for up to 40 pounds then forward facing for 65 pounds. They are both very nice carseats! I wish you luck in picking out one, there are tons to choose from!
Good luck!!

There isn't another slot that you can move to crotch belt into? Some seats have them.
Otherwise, take him to the store with you & try out the carseats. No, it won't be fun for either of you, but it may help you find the right seat.
I would suggest the Graco nautilus 3 in 1 carseat as it is an awesome seat & my 4.5 y/o still likes it & is not uncomfortable, but it is only a forward facing seat. If you are switching him to forward facing this is the seat we love. The 5 point harness goes up to 65 lbs. & then is is a belt positioning high back booster seat or you can take the back off of it.
However, if you are looking for a convertable that is also rearfacing (as that would be safer for him until his is at least 2 y/o) then I don't have any suggestions except to take him to the store.
God bless!
I bought my daughter the "my ride 65 graco" or something along those lines, its AMAZING! its supposed to last until either 55 or 65 lbs. the only problem is its a pretty big carseat and probably wouldnt work if you had more than one child in a booster in a standard car.
the Britax Roundabout is outgrown i nheight long before weight, both my boys outgrew the Roundabout in height before age 3.
I hope he's still rear facing! If he's not, please google EXTENDED REAR FACING and JOEL'S JOURNEY for more information why the NHTSA, THE AAP and safekids.org are recommending children remain rear facing until they reach the rear facing limits of the convertible car seat or at least 2yrs and 30lbs. A rear facing car seat is outgrown when the chld reaches the rear facing weight limit (35lbs on the Roundabout) or there is less than one inch of hard shell above the childs head. The harness height should be just at or below the shoulders for rear facing.
First years TrueFit ($200), Graco Myride65 ($150), Evenflo Triumph ADVANCE ($120), Britax Roundabout 50 ($160), Britax Marathon ($270), Sunshine Kids Radian ($280) are all excellent convertible car seats that will rear face your child for quite some time. And they also have a higher forward facing weight limit so your child can remain safely harnessed until age 5 or beyond.
