We have a Graco Nautilus and love it! Waited for Amazon to have a great sale and got it for just over $100.
Can anyone recommend a convertable booster seat? I'm looking for the kind that starts as a high back with the five point harness and then converts to just the lower booster seat. I've been looking online and prices range from $70 to $300. I would like one that isn't too bulky since we have another carseat right next to it.

Britax Frontier is slim and goes from 5 point harness/85lbs to a high back booster/120lbs. Lots of bang for your buck.
Love our nautilus :) my 4 year old is still comfortably using the harness
i recomment taking your son with you to a babies r us and let him sit in a few. My son hated many of them they pushed his head forward...
I'm waiting for my Britax Frontier to show up!!! Super excited. I wont put my son in anything other than a Britax.
Sunshine Radian is my favorite for this age and size.
We have twins - my husband has a set of Britax Marathon in his truck and I have a set of the Britax Couture in my car. They may be pricey but it's a one time investment and those seats will take your child right up through the weight stages. Both our girls found both style comfortable right from the start.
We absolutely love our Graco Nautilus. My 6 year old and 3 year olds both ride in one. They are not so pricy and you can often find sales. They are somewhat bulky however....
