Constipation and Pedia-lax Dose

If you're talking about the Pedia-Lax suppositories, my pediatrician recommended them when my son was just over a year old. You can use the full "dose," and for my son, it worked within minutes of application. Now, the process of administration wasn't a lot of fun for any of us, but he was so much more comfortable after it worked its magic.
If you're talking about an oral laxative, then I don't know the dosage. I'd suggest trying the suppository if you want quick results.

5 mg tablets of Hyland Vit. C for children.
That will soften the stool. Try different amounts to
get the consistency you want.

My doc said to use 1 on my dd when she was 6 months, and then if it didn't work within 30 min to use another. I really like how easy the suppositories are to use. Pedialax makes 2 kinds, one is a glycerin plug kind of thing and one is a liquid in a little squeeze bottle and i really liked the plug a lot more, the other ones hurt them too much.

You do need to talk to the doc about the rabbit pellets though, that's not ok and needs adressing too, but the fix can be tricky. One thing we did for my dd was switch from cow to goat milk and it made all the difference!

If using the oral kind-you can gut the 2yr old dose down by half and see what that does. If nothing then add 1/4 dose till you reach the 2yr old dose. Even if you give him the 2yr old dose it probably won't. If using the suppositories-again, you can give half and see what happens and then give the other 1/2 an hr or so later if the first dose didn't help. Again, you can give a whole one because it will come out anyways when he does start to go.

PLEASE don't use Miralax, it is a horrible man made chemical and it is a component used in making things like anti freeze!!! It is not safe and can cause dehydration as well.
