My son recently turned one and was a MAJOR spitter, but was not in any pain and was 95th percentile, so he was gaining weight like a champ. I was the paranoid mom and brought it up to the pediatrician (many times). I tried just about everything - medication, nursing him more frequently (so he'd learn to eat less at each feeding), burping more often, I even switched to formula at six months (although this wasn't my only reason for no longer nursing) and nothing helped. I met two other moms in the same situation and the advice was the same...wait it out. Bad news is, there's not much you can do about it and trust me, I feel for you. Good news is, they usually out grow it around 11 months and although that sounds far away, it will fly by. Hang in there. I know it's tough and it can be embarassing, but the truth is, people expect babies to spit up, so just know you're thinking about it way more than anyone else.
