I had a tubal ligation 3 1/2 years ago. Now my period is 2-3 months late. I am never late! I have taken several home pregnancy tests and finally went to the doctor for one and all came out negative. When I was 2 months pregnant with my son, I tryed a home test for fun and it came out negative. So, I don't know what to believe. Everyone keeps asking me if I am stressed, but I'm no more stressed than normal. In fact this is the only thing I am stressed about! I wouldn't mind having another baby but I just want to know for sure whats going on. My husband and I already agreed that if I am pregnant then he would get a vasectomy. Has anyone else had trouble like this? If I'm not pregnant then whats wrong?

What can I do next?

You should go see another doctor I had a similar problem and I went to the doctor he that doctor said it was nothing so I went to see my other doctor and I was sick I had cancer so he took everything out from me. So you should take it serious check with another doctor cause you will never know I'm not telling you this to scare you but it's true you need to get everything checked out.

THe only way to truley know if you are pregnant is thru a blood test. If you are that concerned, I would recommend calling the doctors office to find out if they would be willing to do blood testing for pregnancy. If you peed in a cup, it may not be as accurate. It cost more than the pee in a cup kind but if it puts you at ease. then it is worth the cost.

Another thing that can cause amneria (lack of period) is crash dieting and extensive exercising. So if you have just started diet and exercise, PLease make sure you are not overdoing it.

Have you knowticed any changes in your breasts? Areola becoming a darker color. Pimples looking like they are developing around the areol. Are you breast sore. These may be symtoms of pregnancy.

Good luck! I hope this helps!

Make sure it is not an etopic pregnancy, where the fetus is growing in the tube. This can be life treatening.

Hi,
I used to work in the medical field. You are probably not pregnant, but there is a possibility. Tubal Ligations are not 100% guaranteed.

I remember a patient that came into the office 15 years after her Tubal Ligation and was pregnant. Wow, was she upset.

It is rare but not impossible. For some reason, some women do not respond to urine tests. I would suggest going in for a blood test to be on the safe side.

Good Luck

I had a tubal 2 years ago. I have had normal periods since, but my doctor did tell me that it was possible for my periods to become lighter and less frequent over time. You should check this out with your doctor, but I wouldn't stress about it. I hope all is well with you.

I've had a tubal as well and there's been times I've skipped just from stress and then worried and freaked about not having the period which caused more stress too. Also medical conditions can cause you to have no period so you could get that checked too to see if something is wrong medically.
If the doctor's test was negative odds are you're not pregnant.

Have the doctor run an ultrasound. I know of a woman who had a tubal ligation and had a baby years after. Her tubes had fused back together it does happen. Ultrasound is the only way to see inside the uterus and tubes to make sure of no pregnacy and to see if they can spot something else. Insist on an ultrasound if the doctor is not really concerned enough.

Well, first off you had a T.L., so most likely your not pregnant? As for the periods not being there..I used to be irregular like that for years before concieving my baby. I took home tests for 2 months with all negatives, before I finally got a positive, then wen to the doctor for a confirmation. Bottom line is you NEED to talk to your doctor about all of it.
1. ARE you pregnant? Why are your periods so far apart..I had been tested so many times over a 4 year period for that same issue. You may not be even ovulating, but I am not surehow it works with a T.L. cause I thought that was the point of a T.L.?? Anyhow, that needs to be checked, it could even be something as simple as you being a bit anemic and needing some extra vitamins.
2. If you had a ligation and you DO want another child, then most likely you'll have to talk about a reversal, they are really not that difficult to do nowadays, depending on the process they used to do it in the first place.

Either way good luck to you and your family, and just go talk to your doc.
