Hi Mamas!!

I am looking for a GREAT compact stroller that still has bells and whistles. I'm preparing to be a foster parent and need something that will be compact enough to fit well in the garage when it's not in use. I currently have a LARGE travel system (which I purchased while watching my niece) and would like something lighter and more compact. I still want full recline, a basket cup holders, and I still want it to be sturdy! (i.e not to fall over when I put the diaper bag on it.) If anyone has had a great stroller that works like that, please let me know!! Thanks a bunch!! (on a side note, the children will range from NB- 2yrs.)

What can I do next?

Chicco Liteway stroller. Has all the bells and whistles and more. It completely reclines and is lite weight. You can open and close it with one hand. I love it!!! It was a little more than most light weight strollers but you get what you pay for.

I just got a Joovy Kooper off Craigslist for my 2.5 year old. I LOVE it! I gave up the stroller from my travel system for the Kooper so I had to give up some of the extras. The Kooper DOES NOT tip over if you hang the diaper bag over the handles. It doesn't have cup holders per se. It has "pockets" for the kiddo and the grown up. The pockets work well for a sippy cup or a bottle but wouldn't work for a paper cup of coffee. It does not stand on its own but I've learned to work around it. It takes up SO much less room in the car or the garage. AND my kiddo LOVES it. She never wanted to ride in her old stroller but loves her new one. It has a huge sun shade and a storage basket underneath and still folds up like an umbrella stroller. It does recline but my dd has never been a stroller sleeper so I don't use it. Good luck in your search!

Do they actually make strollers that don't fall over when you put a diaper bag on it? I'm serious ;-)

I have a Phil and Ted. I LOVE it as a great all-around all-purpose, newborn-4 all-terrain, city stroller. Yes, it converts to a double, but it converts to a double. It's fairly small --fits easily into a Honda Civic trunk.

Peg perego is the best for not tipping over - the Si is technically an umbrealla stroller for it's lightweight and compact fold, and you can hang tons of stuff on the handles and it won't tip. Plus, it has full recline and foot rest that can be up or down, AND it has a bigger basket than the chicco. AnD even more, it stands up by itself when folded, perfect for storing in garage!! I did tons of research for mine and love it, and so do all my friends and family who got gracos, chiccos, maclarens, etc.
Albeebaby.com usually has best prices on every stroller (free shipping). And when your done with Pegs, they have a high resale value!!! Oh, and you can close this while wearing flip flops!

I second the Chicco Liteway. Has all that you're asking for (the one cup holder is removeable) plus it comes with a shoulder harness for the littler kiddos who aren't so good at the sitting up yet. And, for the newborns in your life, if you recline the seat all the way, the legrest folds upward to create an enclosed space where they can't slip out.
