My 2 yr old daughter just got a new full arm cast. She is now wearing bigger tee-shirts belonging to her 4 year old brother. Does anyone have any suggestion on what else she can wear, other than sleeveless dresses? It is still kind of cold here for sleeveless clothes.

Thanks for all the great ideas. For now, I have cut open the sleeves of some full-sleeve old onesies/teeshirts of my daughter and that makes it perfect for wearing over the cast. I did the same with some old sweatshirts too. Next I will buy a couple of dresses at thrift stores as suggested by some. The idea of using socks over the cast is great.
Maybe just find one sweater that you stretch out for her to wear over the sleeveless dresses/tops. Also, when my daughter had a cast on her arm, I covered it with a knee-high sock so that she could play at the sand park and not get sand in it. Hope that helps!
You could go to a used clothing store and buy a few slightly larger long sleave shirts and cut off the one arm above the cast. Then make a small slit to help it get over the cast and either hand hem it or try using fray check to keep the raw edge from unraveling.
When I had a cast on my arm, and faced a similar problem, we visited a thrift store and bought a few shirts that I didn't mind cutting so I could get them over the cast. You could do this and just have her wear those things until she's out of the cast, or if you have some of her clothing now that you don't mind fixing that way for her, just cut the sleeves so they'll go over the cast.
You could buy her long-sleeved shirts and cut a slit up the middle, put pretty ribbon in a couple places and tie bows to hold the sleeve together. You would want to hem the cut edges,or you could put applicae flowers or other decorations on a button and put a loop to button them together. If the shirt is very large because you need that much room to cover the cast you could make a cute ribbon belt to gather it in....fun matching hair ornaments are also a cute idea.

Maybe get a few long-sleeved onsies (I think they are sided into toddler sizes?) and cut the cast-side arm off. Then she can wear them under her sleeveless things.
If she's in a full arm cast, get some low cost or second hand turtle necks or termal tops and cut one of the arm off to the length of the cast.

unless your handy with a needle and thread, in which case you cold put in some fancy snaps she could pick them out, or simple velcro, try a second hand store...and sharp scissors the one arm is covered by a cast so that side could be sleevless...good luck!

Try vests. She could wear a vest with almost anything - jeans, a skirt, etc. I don't know if they make ponchos that little but that might be cute too. Maybe you or somebody you know sews?
try a oversize scarf tied in the front
Maybe a shawl.
a size 4 white sweater with the sleeves rolled up(because it maybe a little long in the sleeves.
a white sweater(so she can wear it with all of her outfits)
with a top button. put one sleeve on the arm and one out of the sleeve and button the neck.
or open the sleeves of her shirts at the seams, that way when her cast is removed you can sew the sleeves back together.
Get her a poncho to help keep her warm.
She can wear iger sweat sits adif necessary bu the arm off the casted arm side to 3/4 lenth r both f them so they match. o can do cute things with the ends like tack them up and put jewes here or something.

don't forget you can still do a sleeveless dress, just put a cute cotton (stretchable) long sleeved shirt underneath..
Also, you can do cute little overalls with a cotton shirt.
There is a place in Noe Valley that sales all cotton clothing, but these days, you can also find cotton at many stores, including the carter baby stores and J.C. Pennys where you don't have to pay so much.

I would do sleeveless dresses that are 1 larger size then she wears now. Then get a couple of larger sized sweaters that will fit over the cast. Once she has the cast off in a few weeks the dresses will fit her perfectly and she can grow into the sweaters in a several months, just in time for winter and next spring.
