Clomid Advice??????

I wouldn't order it without a prescription, nor would I take it outside the care of a physician. Why not just go see this other doctor and see if s/he will write you a prescription? If not, then there is probably a good reason you should not be on the drug.

I'm 40 and would love to have a baby as much as anyone. I also believe in being proactive with your health and doing your own research before simply following a physician's advice.

All that being said, I would never order Clomid from the internet and I would question the motive of a doctor who suggested I do so. Why on earth would she do that?

I took Clomid off and on from '83 - '96. DO NOT take it without your Dr's knowledge and check ups. Nor would I buy it online.
See a Dr- a good one who deals with pregnancy issues (both getting preg., and maintaining. Reproductive Endocr. is great!) and talk it over with them.
Did you use Clomid the first time? You didn't mention your age..not that we need to know but you referred to it.
Too many things can happen taking these kinds of meds...please be careful. The 'whatever' might not happen to you, but to your child. It's not worth the risk.
My dr's had me taking temps. for months to watch my cycles, taking Clomid and eventually Perginol. Self treating to get pregnant scares me.

Seeing that you're in Lawrenceville, I'm going to recommend that you check out Atlanta Gynecology and Obstetrics -particularly Dr. Bonk, Dr. Aqua or Dr. Lyman. Dr. Glasser is male, but he delivered my last baby and was wonderful! You may have already been to this practice (they have one in Decatur and one in Lilburn or Lawrenceville). If not, check them out! They don't seem to have any qualms about 40 year olds getting pregnant, and I think they would be straight with you and prescribe Clomid if you want it. I'm 40 and had my last baby two years ago. They always ask me if I'm planning to have any more, and not in a derogatory way. I know a few of them have had babies into their early 40s.

My concern about the online drugs is this are they as good as the ones here and are they made in other countries? I watched a report on drugs from other countries not having as much of the medication in it as here. Also I can say this I did for a while with a Rx get some meds filled and sent from Canada, guess what? at anytime customs can stop the shipment...they did just that and my hubby needed the meds so very much.....so we had to go back to the doctor and get a med RX, then get it locally...what a big waste of money and time.

So besides that I understand one ob not wanting to give it and sadly so many base something too much on personal opinions rather then just educate the patient and let them make the choice. Now a newer Ob says you can order it on line...I'd say go to many different sites and reviews worded differently all over the internet to make an informed choice.

I would only take clomid if you are being monitored by a Doctor. I took it for my first 2 kids and it does work, but you can get cysts, so it is very important to be monitored.

My personal choice would be not to get it online. You can't be sure it is actually the real thing. I took it to kick start my preg. with my oldest. I waited a month to start trying ( I wanted to avoid multiples) and the next month I tried and was successful.. Just my personal experience.

I wouldn't just take a fertility drug without knowing what you're doing and certainly wouldn't order a drug online. Sounds like you need to see a reproductive endocrinologist, someone who deals specifically with fertility issues. You may not actually be a candidate for Clomid which is why your doc didn't want to prescribe it.

I can't imagine a dr advising someone to get a prescription online. Very strange. I dealt with infertility for 7 years. Finally went to reproductive endocrinologist and got pregnant in six months. As he was looking at my history he could not believe how many rounds of Clomid a dr had given me. He said 3 rounds max. I wouldn't waste time hopping from dr to dr. It's a waste of valuable time and money. I saw 4 drs before going to the reprod. endo. Three were infertility "specialists". None of them were even close when trying to diagnose my issues and 2 of them gave me clomid.
