I threw mine in the washing machine (gentle cycle) on cold with a little detergent. I put a towel in w/ it, to scrub it a little while washing. It came out perfectly clean!
First let me say that I don't know what material it actually is, but it is just one of those cheaper drop-in liners. It looks nice and once we re-caulked it from the last owners, it is nice.
it does have hard water 'stains' when you stop and look more closely. it is hard to describe, but you can see streaks of stuff all over the place. I have tried lime away and it just took the skin off my hand (gloves would have been a great idea).
Let me be clear, this is the actual walls of my shower, not the curtain. My husband says they are a vinyl drop-in.
any suggestions?

They're cheap! Throw it away and get a fresh new one for about $4.
I recently learned that Tilex works great. I normally don't use any of those types of chemicals, but we had stains in our showers from the previous owners. After 4 years of living with them I tried Tilex on a recommendation. It worked!!! I was stunned. And bummed that I didn't try it earlier. I just sprayed it on and walked away. Then, a few hours later, I went back, sprayed again, scrubbed, and it was clean. Hallelujiah!
Throw it in the washing machine with detergent and a couple of towels.. it will come out clean..
This is one of those things that I don't spend the extra time on. You can get new ones at Walmart for pretty cheap, so when one starts to look bad, I just buy a new one. I don't let the old ones go to waste though...they make great drop cloths for kids messy painting projects or husband's projects out in the garage.
try krud kutter, it will take out anything... i had a brand new tub liner and my kids got latex paint in it, i tried EVERYTHING to get the oily residue out. it was attracting dirt. the paint color came out, but the oily part was there making the black from dirty bodies stay no matter what cleaner i used. then my sister in law was using krud kutter on walls for painting a room, i grabbed it and used it, and just wiped it out, it was new again.
Once you do get it clean then use furniture polish on it to keep it shiny and stop future icky stuff from sticking to it.
I use comet and my scum buster.
Scrubbing Bubbles work wonders! Spray them on and let them work a few mins, and then before they dry, take one of the 3M green nylon 'scratcher' pads and scrub over them, then rinse. Should be as good as new :)
Tub & Tile...if you need something a bit stronger try adding Sol-U-Mel to it. Worked wonders for mine.
Is it like a bath fitter? We have a ceramic tub and a cheap plasticy (maybe vinyl?) shower surround, and I just use a cheap bathroom spray from the dollar store and a scrub brush. If you want it to really shine, you can use car wax, it helps prevent hard water buildup. Just dry all the surfaces after you clean, and apply the wax like you would to your car. It should also help you not have to scrub as often. Also my mom swears by the Scrubbing Bubbles automatic shower cleaner, but I've never tried it personally.
I just use a regular all-purpose cleaner, spray it on and let it sit for a couple of minutes and then just wipe with a sponge. Otherwise like MamaHolly said just buy a new one they are super cheap.
Magic Eraser works pretty well .
I agree with an earlier post I would try the Magic Eraser. When I used this on my shower doors it did wonders with very little effort or time.
buy a cloth one like hotels use and launder it. As for plastic, through it out.
Have you tried a Magic Eraser? IO use them on my O.-piece tub surround and they work great! When we got our surround, the care instructions say to use Fantastik or similar to clean it but I needed something to take the FILTH off that builds up over time--the reasers haven't hurt it in any way. I use O. with any spray cleaner like Clorox Green, etc.
