Chronic Ear Infections

Have you ever took him to a chiropractor's? He might have a subluxation in the neck area since birth (you know when they twist baby;'s head on the way out). I would highly recommend to do that if you haven't done it yet ( chiropractor ). There is a bunch of remedies for ear infection at the whole food store, wild oats or rainbow blossom like garlic drops. Just ask a person who works at the remedies area and they will recommend several choices. Good luck!

My daughter has had chronic ear infections since she was born (a year ago). She had tubes put in at 6 months old. and continued to have them monthly. In January I joined a wholesale company who manufactures and produces their own version of all types of products, cleaning, bath and body, vitamins and many more. In thier kids line they have body wash and hair wash. If you use Johnsons and Johnsons baby shampoo it has formaldahyde in it. On the ingredients it doesnt say formaldahyde it say quartinium 15 or Q15 it has been proven that this is a cause of chronic ear infections. Since I have started using this on my daughter she has not had an ear infection since January!! Let me know if you would like more information on this company!!

Take him back to the doctor...they may need to put the tubes back in. Generally tubes stay in for like a year or two then fall out. Sometimes that's enough and sometimes they need to get them put back in. You may also want to discuss with the doctor, if he doesn't want to put them back in, a medicine called debrox. It's an oil like substance for the ears. You put it in...let it set a bit, then flush it out with warm water. It's good for ears that don't like to drain...and if they don't drain the gunk just sits there and collects bacteria. Basically you need to know if his ear tubes are propperly formed to know if he needs tubes or if the debrox would be the best way. If his ear tubes are propperly developed then it may just be a case of the gunk being to thick to drain...then the debrox is good. If they're not propperly developed then he may need tubes again.

You need to take him back to the doctor. My daughter had tubes when she was 15 months. After 1 1/2 years, they fell out. Her infections started again. She received her second set of tubes (about 30% of children need them again) back in January. They also had to remove her adenoids. They were double their normal size and that was keeping her ears from draining. She has been great since. If you are looking for another doctor, we use Tim Kelly from Otolaryngology Associates ###-###-####. He has several offices in Indianapolis and Carmel. My daughter really liked him.

Often times chronic ear infections can be a sign of food allergies or sensitivities, specifically dairy in many cases. I highly recommend removing all dairy from his diet (milk, cheese, yogurt, along with any foods you eat that contain dairy). The other thing I would check out is a chiropractor. Sometimes regular adjustments around the ear and in the neck can get everything flowing smoothly. Homeopathics may clear it up, but unless you change his diet you will keep having the ear infections. you may want to talk to his doctor about getting tubes again...

My son also had tubes in his ears, and I had them 4 times. The doctor told us that we had really small ear tubes, and that it was harder for them to drain. Sometimes if this is the case it is necessary for them to have tubes more than once. I still get ear infections every year.

Also have him checked for allergies, because that can cause him to have more infections. My son and I both have severe allergies.

I'm with you...my daughter's tubes fell out about 4 months ago and she's had two infections since. It breaks my heart, but it's the area in which we live.

I honestly don't think that much helps other than antibiotics and those hardly seem to help my daughter. We typically prop up my daughters mattress when she starts getting stuffy/runny/etc. Maybe a steam filled bath and some decongestant would get things cleaned out again.
