My husband is a clothes horse and takes a great deal of pride in his appearance. So, I usually take advantage of Christmas sales to restock items like slacks, ties, dress socks, etc. My husband loves everything to coordinate (as do I) so I have a lot of fun putting together combinations for him.
Also usually buy him things like tie clips, cuff links, collar stays at Christmas because there are more available at that time of year. Again...don't know if your husband needs to or likes to dress up for work...?
I always try to sneak in fun, kid kind of gifts too. My husband loves superheros and the Simpsons. I usually go for corny character boxer shorts, a special tree ornament with a character he likes, or something funny to put on his desk. Movies are always cheap at Christmas too, so if there's something he really likes that you don't own already.
Both of us like to give lots of little gifts that all kind of go together instead of one huge gift. That makes it more fun, more to open and requires more creativity.
