My Christmas song that I tear up from is Little Drummer Boy. My hubby loves this song, and I love it sung by a man with drums (not guitar like a lot of versions are).
Is there a Christmas song that makes you cry ? I listened to a CD & the song was "Mary did you know". I had only heard it once before & teared up. Please tell me that I am not alone when I hear certain music.

The Little Drummer Boy. I wish I had never seen the story on TV when I was a kid -- I still cry when I think about him watching his parents die. It gave me nightmares for years.
The Little Drummer Boy makes me cry. It was my dad's favorite.
I cry when I listen to The Little Drummer Boy.
Oh Holy night always gets me.....I think of my dad.
O Holy night. My Dad loved it. He passed four weeks before Christmas in 1985. After the funeral, I was going out, turned on radio and you guessed it:
O Holy Night. To this day, I will not buynCD if it odes not have it on it. I sob every time I hear it.
C., I had to sing "Mary Did You Know?" at church one Christmas a few years ago and had to really fight not to tear up while singing it! It's a lovely song and I understand how you felt hearing it!
Have a great Christmas and cry all you want!
The one where the little boy wants to buy shoes for his mom so she can look pretty when if she dies that night.
Butterfly Kisses isn't Christmas song but it makes me cry too
Truthfully, I'm not much of a crier. I'm not typically drawn into sappy and trite songs such as "Christmas Shoes" and the like. (Not to offend anyone else, just MY opinion. I'm not talking down to those who love the song. Just different tastes.) However, I do feel a deep stirring when I listen to "Oh Holy Night," and "Mary Did You Know."
C. asking a "C." question - I love it! lol
I wasn't very sentimental...until I had kids. Now I'm a complete sap, especially with certain music.
Oh, absolutely! That one is so beautiful! The version I hear on the radio the most is a duet between Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd and its just so powerful; it does get me every time. I also can't listen to O Holy Night without tearing up. I have to admit, I change the station when "Christmas Shoes" comes on; its just too sad.
Mary Did You Know is a great tear jearker, and a personal one for me is Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
For all of you that put O Holy Night, you really should hear Lea Michelle's version from this past weeks Glee it was better than Josh Grobin and he is amazing.
"Mary did you know," by Kenny Rogers always gets me. Jessica and Ashley Simpson's version of "Little Drummer Boy," is another on that gets me, and I don't know why, maybe the words and the way their two voices harmonize together. The other one that gets me is "Homemade Christmas in Kentucky." I'm not certain that that is the correct title, but that song was one of my fathers favorites and since we grew up poor....always gets me.
Of course, that "Christmas Shoes" song, without fail, once a year makes me bawl my eyes out. Then if it comes on the radio a second time, I turn it off...I hate to cry ;)
breath of heaven (mary's lullaby) by Amy Grant. so great. I can't sing the whole thing without choking up.
I love this one: A Baby Changes Everything:
I love "Mary Did You Know" too . . . and yes I get teary. I also get teary with "O Holy Night" - especially the Josh Groban or Celine Dion versions.
Christmas Shoes and O, Holy Night. I sob.
Christmas Shoes gets me every single time ... so glad to hear I'm not the only one!!!!
Mary Did You Know always is hard for me, too. And it doesn't matter how many times I hear it.
As for non-Christmas music that makes my eyes twitch, that would be Miranda Lambert singing "Over You". Especially near the end when she sings about it sinking in when she sees it in stone. And every chorus when she says "how dare you?!" My eyes just twitch like I have some sort of psychotic episode about to start.
There isn't one that makes me cry. There isn't one Christmas song that I actually enjoy. I'm just over it. This should all be over in a month right?
