Christmas Gift Ideas for My 18 Month Old Twins

I have B/G twins who are 11 years old now. When they were near two years old they enjoyed Megablocks and the Fisher Price Little People toys (barn, school, school bus, etc.) They were toys that were appropriate for both boys and girls and they played well with them together. Of course we got cars for our son and dolls for our daughter as well so they had something of their own for Christmas. Have fun. They grow up quickly.

You probably want something they can use for years to come- how about a kitchen? We gave our daughter her kitchen the xmas before she turned 2 (she was about 21 months). She loved it then, and still does at almost 4. There are so many different ones out there. Have fun & Merry Christmas!

The kitchen is a good idea - my advice is to shop around though. We got one that was much taller than most of the plastic ones and my 8 yr old can still get into using it. That might make it a little big for the 18mnth olds but they will be able to use it much longer. For smaller ideas, we got our son(as an 18 month old) a blow up ball pit - he loved it. They have bigger ones like tents that both our kids could fit in when they were small. They have a great selection of race tracks at the stores for little hands too. I also have 18mth old B/G twins. We got them the little tikes sizzle and serve kitchen and doll and stroller for my daughter and a bat, ball and tee for my son. We also got puzzles for them too. The ball pit is also a great idea. I brought our baby pool in when it got cold out and filled it with balls from Target(I think they're 175 in a bag) They LOVE it and play in there every day:)

If your looking for something a little smaller, the Fisher Price laugh & learn home got great reviews everywhere ive seen.

My pediatrician suggested for my son (18 mnths) anything that is pretend play - Doctors kit, kids cleaning set,tools/workshop ect. Kids like to do things that grown ups do!

I have the Melissa & Doug Puzzles and he loves those too!

The Letter Factory by Leap frog and 2 Melissa and Doug ABC puzzles. Use these regularly and your kids will have their alphabet and phonics down by the time they turn two. Seriously. Someone told me that a year ago, and I was doubtful, but 2-1/2 year old triplets are SOOOOOOOOOOO into their ABC's now, they wake up asking to play with them and we are working on teaching them to read.

All of these are great ideas. My b/g twins were about 20 months old at Christmas last year, and we bought them tricycles. I chose the Radio Flyer trikes that included a steering handle for parents, which has come in handy while they have learned how to peddal. The model I chose was also actually for 2-5 year-olds, but I wanted something they could use longer than just one year. We are fortunate to have a very large, unfinished basement, and the kids loved to be pushed around all last winter when it was too cold to go outside. Now that the weather is cold again, we just brought the trikes back in for the winter and the kids are having a blast peddaling around down there (they just now have learned how to do it by themselves, since they can now reach the pedals). In addition to the trikes, we got the kids snow sleds last year. Other gifts our twins got when they were 1 1/2 included Melissa & Doug puzzles/blocks, play vacuum cleaners (they still love to follow Mommy with these), a tent/tunnel, and the Little People sets.
