Hi there, I am considering pre-empting a migraine headache with chiropractic adjustment. Has anyone had success with chiropractors treating migraines headaches?
I
had a similar headache pattern post-natal and my neurologist suggested a deep issue massage few days ahead of the migraine onset with my period. That worked VERY successfully. The headaches stopped. Now, I am thinking to explore chiropractic…

Please advice.

TIA!!!

So What Happened?

thank you thank you thank you ALL SO VERY MUCH!!!

I woke up on Friday with the headache starting (that initial haziness dull ache feeling), had the massage and adjustment at noon on Friday, dull ache ended around 2pm Friday, my period started on Sunday and yet, I spent the weekend totally headache free!!!
I actually went to style my hair on saturday and still migraine free! I dared not do that normally.

Looks like we have a "monthly" winner. thanks for all your help!

Yes, Yes, and Yes! Chiropractic works for headaches! Go to a good one though. I recommend Dr. David Cox in Little Elm. I dealt with severe headaches all my life and now I go to a chiropractor regularly and I love it. The other thing that really worked for me was going to a Rolfer -- Look up Rolfing of Dallas. They work on connective tissue. Expensive but well worth it!!

Yes, chiropractic helps significantly! Not all of them are expensive and many times you can use your insurance. I go to Dr. Kevin Smith, ###-###-####, He is off of Lovers Lane and Hillcrest.

Yes, I have personally had great success with Chiropractic care for migraines. I currently see Dr. Joe Diruzzo on Harvest Hill. His number is ###-###-####.

I also discovered the healing power of nutrition and became so excited about it I entered a PhD program in Holistic Nutrition and started a natural health practice! Most migraines are caused by hormonal imbalances and/or toxicity. Both can corrected through therapeutic nutrition. I persoanlly went from having 3-5 migraines/month to 1/year at the most. I still see Dr. Joe for health maintenance, but do not really need migraine relief at this point! Check out my business here or my website, www.ebenezerwellness.com

Hi D.,
I too suffered bad headaches from neck tension (not migraines) and the ONLY way to rid myself of them was deep tissue massage. I tried out a chiro and LOVE it! It did take a few weeks (I went 2 times a week, my husband went 3 times a week to start) for the adjustments to really give me lasting relief but it helped me so much! My husband now goes too. We go once a month for an adjustment and maintain the headache free zone now. I also have been please that it's help many other problems as well like my sinus problems.

I have started to take homeopathic remedies (I was a skeptic until I took a remedy for migraines and my irritable bowel syndrome- and it worked better than the prescription medicine)

Go to 1-800homeopathy.com. They have remedies for everything including babies on up to elderly people. Even pregnant or recovering from pregnancy. And even pets! Try them out! It's amazing and not expensive. It's also not medicine (it's like herbal) and non addicting. And you can take it with medicine.

Just take my advice and read up on it. It's worth it.

I've also used chiropractic care. I'm a big fan of it, especially when my migraine goes into my neck. But, if you are out of place, an adjustment can actually make things worse for your head, because your muscles get sore and want to push your bones back out. I suggest getting rid of the migraine then going to a chiropractor. Don't go when you have one. I've been sent home many times because I was so tense they couldn't adjust me without me crying and yelling.

D.,

If you email or call me I would love to visit more. I would love to share some testimonials. I have several nurse friends that have had migraines, they are off topramax and other drugs that they used for treatment. All of us now take Vemma. It is natural and the mangosteen is a natural anti inflamatory. Vemma makes no claims to treat prevent or cure any disease or diagnosis, however I can tell you personally testimonials and lab work from individuals who supplement, are the ones to talk to and the biggest believers. I would be happy to give their phone number if you email or call me and you can get third party validation. ALso for $2.00 a day its the best investment in your health and if it gets rid of your migraines that is a story in itself. ALso you can go to

This is a great testimonial website if you guys want to view and share with people you care about.

My website it www.myvemma.com/tonistrathman

just type and paste into your browser. Also I encourage all of you to get this magazine SUCCESS(Barnes and Noble or Borders) today!! The March issue and it features Vemma and Verve this month in the entire issue and there is a great article from Dr. Oz in there as well.
Hope this helps!

YES! It is the absolute BEST thing you can do for your migraine. And the deep tissue massage in combination is just a win/win! My chiro is the only one of my doctors who got to the root of my occasional migraines, as it was related to my monthly cycle....as it sounds is the issue with you, also. If I get adjusted just prior to the onset, or right as I feel it coming on, I will escape it. The couple of times that I thought, "Oh, I just can't take the time to go" was the WORST decision! And I suffered for 3-4 days. I don't know what area you are in, but my chiro is Dr. Melissa Shelton at Preston and Hedcoxe ###-###-####. She has a wonderful office and staff. And they will take care of billing your insurance for you (if your policy has chiro coverage) and they will even verify your benefits for you if you don't know. Good Luck!!

Yes, yes, YES! I was skeptical when I first started going, but I was at my wits end. I've gone from having 2-3 migraines a month to less than 1 a year. Plus, the adjustments really helped relieve stress/tension in my neck and shoulders. And when I do get a migraine, it's shorter in duration and a lot less painful (without the nasty side effects like the sensitivity to light and the vomiting)

D.: I totally believe in the Chiropractic process. I had migraines for years mostly when I was pregnant. After trying everything for them, I heard about a herb called Feverfew. I tried this and took it for about a year. That was in 1993 and I have not had another migraine since. This is just my experience, it may not work for you but I thought that I would let you know what helped me.
