Take her to the vet. She could have an infection. You should also get her neutered as soon as possible - she'll be a happier cat once it's done.
i bought my cat in a small pet shop they told me she was 7 months neutered and vaccinated. well about 2months later she gave birth to 3 kittens we were suprised we took care of the kittens before we gave them away. its been 6 months since she gave birth. we recently moved to a knew place she was hiding everywhere in the house wouldnt let us pet her or anything. we assumed she was frightend about the moving process and being in a new home. but about a week ago she became very affectionate and comes out even more but yesterday morning i noticed a smell when i entered my living room. she had peed on my chair and this morning i found one of my couch pillows the same. her litter is clean she only poops in it. what makes her do this. is she ready to have sex again or what? (i havent gotten her neutered yet and she is a cat house i never let her outside.)
ok so i took her to the vet got her fixed and they didnt find anything with her and i tried changing the litter box and it help thanks everyone

this is why you should NEVER buy an animal from a pet store...go to a shelter, rescue org, or pound...
Take her to your vet as soon as you can. She might have bladder stones- your vet can tell. Also, make an appt. to get her spayed so you don't run a chance of "surprises" too. The sooner you take her, the better as you'll have less stains around the house and prevent further marking. Use Nature's Miracle from PetSmart or Petco to clean up the stains- nothing else. It's an enzymatic cleaner and will erase the stain so your cat will not smell it later. Other cleaners just cover the stain and pets can still find them.
Good luck

She is either in heat (fertile) or has an infection. Take her to the vet right away.
could be a bladder infection - take her in to the vet, and get her spayed.
She's ill. Take her to the vet and check her for a bladder infection. Cats don't just stop using the litter box unless they are sick or really upset. The rest of her actions suggest that she has a urinary infection. A couple injections or pills and hopefully she will be fine. Oh, and get her spayed....if she goes into heat she will be very mouthy and if she happens to get outside there will be more uneeded kitties in this world.
I would get her to the vet immediately. She could have a medical issue that is causing this (urinary tract infection, kidney problems, etc.) I would also have her spayed. Even though she's an indoor cat, you never know when a cat may sneak out and the process of when they are in heat is such a pain - many make awful noises, rub against everything, plus they can come into heat over and over again. Before I had mine spayed, she went into heat 3 times in a period of 1 1/2 months - it was awful.
Hi M.,
Female cats that are not spayed will eventually come into heat (technically called oestrus). Here's how you'll know for sure:
1. Immediately preceding oestrus, your female cat may become unusually affectionate, by sidling up and rubbing her hind quarters against furniture, stuffed toys, other cats, and/or her favorite human.
2. She may spend excessive time licking her genital area. Note: genital licking can be a symptom of a urinary tract disorder, which can be serious if not treated promptly.
3. The Queen (name for female cats of breeding age) will vocalize loudly. This "calling" may go on for several days, unless she mates. This will drive you absolutely up the wall.
4. She will assume a mating position: head down, forelegs bent, rear quarters raised to expose the perineum (this raised posture is called lordosis), with the tail raised and held to the side of the body. Her rear legs will tread rhythmically, as if walking in place.
5. She may also spray vertical surfaces with urine. She will accomplish this by backing up to the surface and raising her tail high. The tail may quiver, and she may perform the rhythmic treading described in step four.
6.If your female cat does not mate, she will go into oestrus as often as every two to three weeks, for several months each year, until she either mates or is spayed.
I'd take her to your vet right away and get her spayed. The vet will also be able to tell you what to look for to know if she's having a medical problem with her bladder.
Good luck!

We had a cat that suddenly started peeing a our chair. In fact we had to throw it out, that is how bad she was. We took her ti the Vet to see if she had a urinary infection. She did not but the vet asked if we had changed her brand of litter. We had changed from Fresh step to a cheaper brand. WHen we switched back to Fresh Step everything went back to normal.
So if you have changed litters switch back or take her to the Vet to check to a UTI.

Trust me on this, GET HER SPAYED!! Even if she is indoors only she will go into heat every 6 mos for several weeks @ a time & there is nothing worse than a female cat in heat. She will be very clingy & will rub on you constantly, always putting her rear up in the air. She will walk around the house loudly crying out. And she will try to escape outside. The urine thing could very well be a part of the process but also take in consideration she may also have a urinary tract infection as well.... Good luck!!
I agree with all that have advised to bring her to the vet. My friend had a Persian that did something similar which she later found out is common among Persians and she ended up having to get rid of the cat (to a farm, I think). Anyway the cat was seemingly doing it on purpose on the children's bed, pillows, etc. I'd hurry before you have to replace furniture as that smell doesn't come out. Just one of the many reasons we like dogs...(sorry, just couldn't help myself)!
Sorry, kind of laugh here. We had the same thing sort of happen to us with guinea pigs who were supposed to be girls. Well, Papa Giorgio and Skeet went on to have about eighteen children. My husband even built a cage separation so Papa Giorgio would leave the girl alone. She squealed and squealed all the time anyway. Turns out we caught him in mid flight leaping over the wall that had been erected. They are gone now, but not forgotten. Anyway enough about that we also have a cat who won't go where he is supposed to so I would like to hear about this. And he's not neutered either. He will be someday, the spray is pretty smelly. I heard cats are such clean animals. This just doesn't take into account that they are supposed to help keep our house cleanHe is a good mouser though.Hope to hear the answer soon!
So basically the pet store falsified your kitten's health records? I assume you asked for paper documentation of her shots and vet history before you took her home.
Whether your cat goes indoors or outdoors, get her spayed. First, I guarantee that if she is a house cat and she goes into heat, she will find a way to get outside to get some action. Second, there are more than enough unwanted pets out there right now. Since you are responsible for your pet, it's YOUR duty to see that she's rendered incapable of producing a litter. Third, spraying is likely the result of hormones or a bladder problem - both of which warrant a trip to the veterinarian. Run, don't walk.
Absolutely take her to the vet. Then you'll need something to deal with the pee around the house. If it's washable soak it in nature's miracle (pet store have this) then wash in the washing machine. For carpet, etc follow the directions on the nature's miracle bottle.
also the rule of thumb with litter boxes is 1 per cat plus one. So if you have 1 cat you need 2 litter boxes. Some cats just really like to pee in one and poop in another. Sometimes people can get away with just one, but if you're already dealing with peeing issues 2 is a good idea. Good Luck! K
They will spray when they are in heat. I would recommend getting her fixed as soon as possible.
Never , ever get pets from a pet store, please. So many of them are just fronts for puppy and kitten mills and you can always adopt a perfectly good house-trained cat from a shelter.
That said, cats pee on things for lots of reasons. I would absolutely get her spayed, but also, try moving her litter box, and try a different kind of litter. If you haven't taken her to the vet to get checked out, do it now. You obviously can't trust anything the pet store told you, or they would not have sold you a pregnant cat, so she might have urinary tract problems or post birth complications.
