try a mix of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap. I read it online a few months ago. good luck!
does anyone have a sure fire way to get the cat pee smell out of a floor that is hard wood? We have tried vinegar, natures miracle and polmolive soap.

I have had great success with Anti Icky Poo (funny name, real product!). I had tried every store bought and homemade concoction, with no lasting results (smell always came back). You'll have to order the Anti Icky Poo online (I think I ordered mine thru Cat Faeries website), but it has saved our house!
We had to strip our floor, dump bleach all over it and then refinish the floor to get the smell out of ours. Our house had been used as a rental property for several years before we purchased it, so there were years and years of accumulated stains as well as several different animals.
Try Spot Shot. It works wonders on carpet, but would probably do the job on your floors. We use it for everything from dog messes to kid messes. Good luck!!
Nature's Miracle cat pee formula was what really worked for us in the carpet, but we had to apply it 5-6 times before we finally got it all. I know you wanted new suggestions, and I hope you get them- that smell is the worst! I haven't had success with any other way- we tried baking soda and Borax.
Hi momma-
Did you soak it in vinegar and let it dry? I had to pool the vinegar on my hard wood floors twice before the smell finally faded. Added some baking soda the last time, too.
I also used clorox green works to do the initial clean up. You can also try your laundry detergent, not watered down, or some castille soap with really hot water. Soak the floor and open up the grain a bit and then use the vinegar or other cleaner.
So sorry!
Good luck!

try natures miracle spray. you can find it in pet stores. i know it works on rugs & couches. good luck!
Go to an industrial cleaning place and ask them. About 10 years ago, we moved in to a house that had cat stains all over the carpet and it went through to the hardwood floor. We went to an industrial cleaning supply place and they gave us this product that took the smell out before the new carpet was installed.
I'm interested in the answers you get, too.
You can try going to your closest Pet Kennel, maybe they can sell you a cup of what they use.
I've tried lots of products, but the only thing that worked for us was Urine Gone. I've gotten it at Walmart, Target, Walgreens ...
Good luck!
