hi S.. i am not sure what type of hair you have or how you have it cut... but my hair has a lot of natural waves in it. its always been pretty frizzy and unmanageable.
but i find that if i get it cut in layers... i can go longer between hair cuts. when it grows out, its not as noticeable for me, since the layers grow too. my hair is about medium length and i keep my layers very long and minimal too.
i also have my bangs cut to the side... the "swoop" bang i think it is called. most times i just run my flat iron across them and they are good to go. other times i can wash the hair and put product in it, and "scrunch" it... and as my bangs grow out, they just blend into the layers since they are side bangs rather than cut straight across. again.. .helping space out the visits to the salon. its a really quick style and the bed head, messy, wavy look seems to transition well if you need to throw it into a pony tail or clip at the gym. also, you can pull just half of it up on the sides and pin it, or use a small clip in the back and leave only half of it down. it keeps some of it out of your face then.
also, i use a really deep conditioner about once a week but i just keep it on the bottom half of my hair, otherwise the top gets greasy. that helps to maintain my ends when i am due for a cut and my ends are looking a bit rough.
let us know what you try out and what works for you. good luck to you! and awesome at keeping up the work out routine! good for you!
