A.K.
I can't wait until November when all the political stuff is over. Personally I HATE the debates and listening to people trash talk each other when they say they won't
Paul Ryan.
Like him? Why?
Don't like him? Why not?

Hmm. let me think. Ah, no I do not like him.
I think his budget is insane.
I think his politics are insane.
I think the people who benefit from him would be the 1% of Americans and since I am not O. of them, I will vote for my interests.
To address the Medicare issue. He is not ending it. Medicare will always be an option for those that want it. Doctors are dropping Medicare left n right due to cuts. Obamacare will destroy Medicare with the 560 billion dollar cuts. Won't be able to find a doctor that takes Medicare. Ryan is not cutting Medicare it will be an option for seniors. So who will destroy Medicare: Obama!
Well, it hasn't been asked.....maybe cuz nobody CARES?! Giggle.
To be honest, I know nothing about him except with whom he's running. And in that case, I don't really NEED to know anything about him.
;)
ETA: I should point out that I'm a lifelong registered Republican. However this year's offerings are WAAAAY to radical for this New Yorker. :(
I kind of like him, actually (And, I'm STILL intelligent. Gasp!!) Not that I truly like any politician, or think they don't just want a bit of power. Needless to say, insulting the intelligence of people who disagree, makes O. look pretty...well...stupid. Oh, I just LOVE (eye roll) when people copy and paste an article, and don't put where it came from. You know, so people can get a BALANCED opinion and fact check.
He' cute, not that I would be swayed by that politically. Just sayin' I don't mind his face plastered everywhere.
"I can't wait until November when all the political stuff is over. Personally I HATE the debates and listening to people trash talk each other when they say they won't"
Amy I wish I could give you a hundred flowers for that!! Especially after Loving M's less than loving response was the first O. I read. Sorry but intelligence is knowing that just because people do not agree with you does not by proxy make them unintelligent.
I like Ryan because he is the only politician that I know of that doesn't stoop to the personal attacks. To me it should make this an interesting election.
I like him. I especially like his positivity and refusing to stoop the negativity that is coming out right now in the dem's commercials. The ad about the woman dying from lung cancer is so wrong on so many levels it is beyond belief!! And the O. with granny being pushed off the cliff is ridiculous! People actually laugh at it. How lame is it to use those scare tactics.
It also baffles me that people question his experience. He has so much more than President Obama had when he ran. And who would not be terrified by having Biden as president?
BTW, has anyone else seen Obama's America 2016? It is based on the book by Dinesh D'Souza and produced by Gerald R. Molen, who also produced Schlindler's List. Very thought provoking.
Don't like him politically. I do see a good family man, but not a good choice for VP. I do not like the idea of a voucher system for medicare. I worry about how that will affect my parents. He would bascially end Medicare. Unsure why that would even be an agenda. He's looking to raise taxes on the middle class and cut taxes for the wealthy. Overall I feel he is not in touch with what the country needs. He's too conservative and a Romney/Ryan combo would not fare well for the country as a whole. It's a great ticket if you are wealthy however. I am a democrat and I am actually happy with the choice, because I feel his views will be seen as a negative overall. Time will tell.
Added:
Since I've been called a hypocrite here by O. of the posters, here's the definition of hypocrisy:
"a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs." (From Dictionary.com)
I expect government and the American people to promote capitalism AND promote classes OTHER THAN just the rich. That includes using MY tax dollars to make sure that there are social security and medicare benefits available for others, as well as for myself. And I pay a LOT of taxes...
Ayn Rand, on the other hand, fought against government benefits, but was happy to receive social security payments and medicare benefits under the name of Ann O'Conner (her husband's name was Frank O'Connor.)
She was certainly happy to act in her own self-interest, which was certainly the Ayn Rand way.
Who is the real hypocrite? Well, it's not me.
Btw, I don't personally know anyone who follows Stalin, Marx and Mao.
Original:
Anyone who is a believer of Ayn Rand principles is someone I have no respect for and believe is dangerous for our country.
Paul Ryan? Hubba hubba! Lol.
I guess he is the GOP's answer to Bill Clinton, just 20 years later, and without the sleazy womanizing.
He makes me feel ok with voting for Romney.
Why do people get all uppity about vp picks? It's not like they're going to have any power anyways....
But I do like him. A man with convictions. And so proudly pro-life!
I like him, and I love his policies, but I'm not sure he was the best choice for Romney as far as picking someone that will help him win. We'll see.
I agree with those who say they want it to be over. Politics have gotten so ugly. I'm sick of all the nastiness.
it's weird. politically he's total anathema to me. all the stuff i like least about today's far right.
and yet i find him oddly likable. maybe it's because unlike most of the insane faction of the tea partiers, he actually came up with a plan and promoted it. i hate the plan, but it beats the hell out of 'just disagree violently with everything obama says.'
and he's not strident (at least not yet.) even if the message isn't moderate, politics has become so over the top ugly that it's refreshing just to hear a moderately-pitched voice.
i'm sure campaigning with crazy-eyes mitt will change that, though.

He reminds me of Eddie Munster.
I liked Eddie Munster.
But I'm not sure I want a VP that looks like him.
Looks aside, I don't agree with his policies.
Love what I have seen so far! Check out on YouTube "Paul Ryan hiding spending does not reduce spending" video.
He is smart, articulate and correct IMHO:).
I don't know anything about his personality, and I don't care. That's not why I vote. I don't like his policies. His plan to privatize social security and gut medicare will take a huge toll on our seniors. His anti-woman stance insults me and I am in favor of women being able to get health care at Planned Parenthood - both he and Romney are anti-women's-health. I think preserving a huge tax cut for the ultra-rich at the expense of the working poor is wrong. We have virtually no middle class anymore - middle class being defined as people who could lose a job and manage for 8-9 months with savings. I think pitting working class people against the poor is a great way to keep them fighting with each other and let the rich keep getting richer. Salaries and benefits for top executives are a zillion times greater than those of the "worker bees" and the gap keeps growing. Anybody can balance a budget if they cut cut cut for those who have less of a voice. And the big money is buying this election which is why there are so many efforts to pass laws invalidating Citizens United.
I am concerned because neither he nor Romney have any foreign policy experience.
From someone (me) who supported and voted for Obama in 2008, I like him.
Obama has been a severe disappointment for me and my family. We are Independents who tend to lean left.
I don't like Romney. But I do like Ryan and that in and of itself will convince me to vote for the Romney/Ryan ticket.
It hasn't been asked because we all knew you would be the O. to ask it. We didn't want to step on any toes ;)
I really don't have a view on him yet. I haven't watched any news since we got a new cable co. in July, I don't know how to work it yet. I'll have to start doing my research though, so I can make an educated vote in November.
At Angela S.: Paul Ryan is 42 and will be a week away from 43 at inauguration (not saying he will be inaugurated.) Kennedy was 43 when he was inaugurated as our President. And Bill Clinton was 46 at his inauguration. Paul Ryan is young but that doesn't mean he's not qualified. I know so many people who are 50, 60, and 70...not a O. of them is qualified for presidency.
I have NO idea. I haven't been keeping up with politics much this time around. I'm so exhausted with all the mud-slinging. It makes me really sick. And truth of the matter is, you can't really trust any of them.
Well, I don't care for him. Someone remarked... what is the big deal about the VP pick? Has that person considered that the VP has a decent shot at becoming president, and will, no matter what, if something happens to the President while in office? It is a big deal. It also says a lot about the person who chose him/her. I don't like him because I saw his voting record and I disagree with the vast majority of his votes. http://www.ontheissues.org/House/Paul_Ryan.htm/
I'm still trying to figure out how someone my age is qualified to be VP. :P
Our first gen-X'er . . .
I thought Romney introduced him as the next United States President?
My Republic parents love him...
I wonder if I can vote from Canada? Does anyone know?
I'm wondering who Roseanne is going to pick! Since Pat Paulson died, I havent had anyone to vote for......"I've upped my standard, now up yours"
I really like Paul Ryan. He is going to be a great VP. ;)
I like Ryan and I will be voting for Romney/Ryan - he's a smart choice for Romney because we need to get the economy going and Ryan will be helpful with his background. Obama needs to go - he is the most inexperienced incompetent president we've ever had
Cheryl and others have stated their views so well that I don't think I need to add anything to what they've said.
