My husband an I have been going through a rough patch and need to work on our communication. It has gotten to a point were we think counseling might be worth while before we get into the ditch any further...
We are looking for someone in Seattle or Burien Area (ideally).
Also if you could give us an idea of what you have paid for their services. We are just wondering what to expect financially.

I., I strongly recommend Jennyfer Raden MA, LMHC as a marriage therapist. She is well trained (Gottman certified) and experienced in addition to being wise and compassionate. I believe that she does an excellent job of identifying the places where work in a marriage can make positive changes, and she provides clear and useful support to do the work.
You can reach her at ###-###-####. Her website has a number of really useful resources and also explains the process she uses in therapy. http://healthycouples.org/

It could be useful to do a 30 minute (free) initial consult and see if she is a good match for you.

Good luck!

I can't give a recommendation for your area, but I am seeing a therapist based in Poulsbo/based in Bainbridge, and she charges $95 per "hour" (a 50-minute therapy hour). When I was searching for a therapist, I found rates varying from $70-110 per hour. Some accept insurance, and some offer a sliding scale based on income. Good luck!

I highly recommend Diane Burgert in Seattle. She's really the best! I've seen her for years and she helped me so much. She is experienced, very caring, very thoughtful, very insightful, very smart. I've seen therapists over the years but she is the best one ever. She's amazing.

We have had a good experience with Mitch Singer -- he's helped me personally work on my communication skills, and he's helped us as a couple. We found him to be really balanced, understanding, practical, and effective. His number is ###-###-####. He's in Seattle (Magnolia neighborhood). I think the rate is around $100/hour (a full 60 minute session) but you'd need to double check w/ him.

My friends liked their counselor at Bastyr University. You would be seeing a student (with an advisor), but the rates are much better. I will say that whoever you end up going to needs to feel right for both of you. I've known a few couples that needed to change therapists before finding the right fit. In fact, my friends that went to Bastyr wasn't happy with the first student but loved the second that they are now seeing.
