I'm looking for a lightweight stroller. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but I want something better than your walmart $20 umbrella stroller. Please send me your reviews of your lightweight strollers. I want something sturdy that is good for frequent use (I like to go on brisk walks nearly every day) but is still lightweight and easy to maneuver. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I just bought a friend a great lightweight stroller from Target a few months ago. It was $29.99 and collapses down pretty flat. It has a basket underneath, a snack tray and I believe a parent tray as well. I wanted to buy one for myself, but I need double strollers now!

The Chicco Capri umbrella stroller and the Combi strollers are some of the better ones in the "lightweight but not too expensive" category. Both have sun shades, baskets, carry straps, and will recline. One thing to keep in mind is that most lightweight strollers have pretty small wheels, which aren't necessarily the best for brisk walks as they will get caught on cracks, rocks, and uneven terrain. I really don't know of any lightweight strollers with large wheels. Go to a store, put your child in a few though and give them a test drive! I know at least Babies 'R' Us is all about 'try before you buy'.

Babies R Us has an inexpensive (about $50) lightweight stroller by Babytrend that I really like. Here is the link:

I bought this stroller when I had my last child about 2 years ago and it was worked great. It is more sturdy than an umbrella stroller but is lightweight, compact, and very inexpensive.

M.-
I have a Graco stroller, I bought it with my car seat, so I don't know if you can get them separetly, but I love it. It folds up flat and the back is adjustable so they can lay down or sit up, easy to maneuver, and very lightweight. I bought mine on eBay, great deal :)

We have a Maclaren Quest which I love love love. It's VERY lightweight, folds compactly, and my little guy will actually climb into it by himself when he wants to be pushed (which says to me that it must be comfortable!).

Have you been to a baby store to try them out?

Also, we bought our stroller on-line and it was a much better deal.

Good luck!

I have a Chicco c6 (~$60). I felt like I had to go to this price point to get the features I wanted (basket for storage, taller handles and reclining). I wanted to buy the Evenflo Xsport but the seat didn't recline which was also true with the Jeep Umbrella Stroller. I actually bought all 3 strollers and tried them out in my home to decide. (Note: if you do this do not attach the wheels to the strollers - they are much more likely to return them unassembled.)

The c6 is good for quick shopping trips or places that a smaller stroller is more appropriate. We take it on walks many times a week and it handles well - our walks are on sidewalks and flat, paved ground. If you are on uneven surfaces you would want something with bigger wheels which makes it easier to push and more comfortable for baby.

Something a little bigger but VERY nice is the Graco Metrolite (~$90). I have had mine for 4 years and just love it. It is a full-size stroller but very light and easy to push. I had great storage and a nice parent tray.

Good luck.

Maclaren Volo - run's about 100 bucks, but worth every penny. Try to get last years model and you can get a nice discount too. It moves on a dime, is very light weight (8lbs), has a great strap to hang over you shoulder, very sturdy, and easy to push when you are holding your little peanut! I highly, highly recommend this stroller I have been using it for a year now and it is still in great condition. It is great for any hard surface and awsome in the airport. I am not sure if you care about this or not but I am pretty tall and this one has nice high handles, no more sore back from pushing the stroller. Finally, the nicer stuff is resaleable - when you are done someone on craigslist will love to give you 50% of the value back!!! Good Luck!

we have had the jeep wrangler stroller by kolcraft since my dd was about 5 months old. she is 2 now and we still use and love it. it cost $30 at babiesrus. we keep it in the van for our runs into stores etc. and I use it for walks with my dd for the same reason, I didn't want something bulky but I wanted it to last. I like the convenience of an umbrella stroller and this one is sturdy.

I too wanted more than the $20 cheapy and decided to buy from the 'Chicco Capri' line at Babies 'R' Us. Here is the link to the stroller that I bought and I have been glad with the choice ever since.

Also, the nice thing about going into the store will be the fact that you get to try them out for fit and confort since they have most of them assembled. I highly recommend doing that! It is worth the trip and time!
Good Luck!

We also bought the Chicco Capri stroller - same design too! There are tons of colors to choose from, but we loved the fact that this stroller was very sturdy, easy to push, smooth ride, and the handles are a bit taller than the cheaper models, so you don't have to bend over to push the stroller. Has a great sun shade too!

We are very happy with our choice - check it out. We got it at Babies R Us for about $59 - worth every penny! We've taken it on trips too - comes with a great carrying case that keeps the stroller clean if you need to check it or whatever.

Good luck - there's so much to choose from. I did a lot of research too, and again, we're very happy with our choice.

I know that you said you did not want a Wal-mart stroller, but I bought the evenflo sport stroller at Wal-mart for about $30 and it is awesome. It is a affordable version of a Jeep stroller, I think that you should check it out, it would work perfect for what you need.
