Ladies,
My baby is a bit over two months old. I still have a bump. I'm curious how long it will last with moderate exercise. Any advice is appreciated.

What can I do next?

TTAPP - find the book "Fit and Fabulous in 15 minutes" on amazon. There is a free workout DVD in the back that worked wonders.

It will take time for it to go down. Depending on how much weight you had gained will depend how fast it will go down. Don't worry too mcuh about your figure, it will come back. Excersize of course, it wouldn't hurt anything. Just watch your intake of food, unless you are breastfeeding.

As said before it didn't happen overnight. I have had 3 c-sect and still have a small bump. May have soemthing to do with as close together as mine were (3 in 3 years eek!) Remember that the Dr has cut on your muscles and they have to repair and heal. If you were active before and were a moderately healthy eater I would suspect it to be gone soon. Breastfeeding helps. Also remember that certain foods and drinks can make you bloated as well. My Dr always told me 9 months up 12 months down. The first two months of being a first time mommy can be wonderful and overwhelming all at once. I'm not sure but it's either the September issue of BHG or Family Circle that there are actually toning and tummy toning exercises. They are some of the ones that my trainer used on me at the gym.

Good luck

I am mommy to four. First two were natural delivery and I had no "bump" what so ever. Last two were C-section (youngest is now 2) and I don't think the bump will ever completely go away. I have lost all of my pregnancy weight so it is not that. Does diminish some with working out. I recommend pilates....personally I still have some pain, not just with exercising but in general.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Bumps never go away, I had cancer after my second c sect and weighed 88lbs and had a bump, crazy. I find pilates and yoga pull it tighter and make it more flat, but I am unable to get rid of it even after baby #3 and I only gained 18lbs, I still had a bump. Remember, muscle is cut for a c sect and that is hard to recover esp after it stretches for your babies growth while in you. Good luck and if you find something, let us know. I actually had a plastic surgeon tell me a tummy tuck was my only way out of the bump. Good Luck, M.

I think with a c-section it is rough to get rid of.I am part of a playgroup and me and a couple of other moms who had c-section were talking about that the other day.It has been 13 months and I still have somewhat of a bump.Plus it hurt me to excercise because of my c-section for a long time sometimes even know it hurts when I move a certain way.

Not sure but you did not gain it overnight so you will not lose it overnight. You are lucky if you only have a bump. I have had two kids and never lost the weight so I still have the belly :0( I am working on it though..guess something finally kicked in and told me to get gone. Long story as to why I never tried before but in one word...lazy.

I have heard that if you are breastfeeding the weight comes off quicker. Couldn't tell if you if that is true or not, neither of mine wanted to breastfeed.

Congratulations on your new blessing!!!

Mine went away after about a year with my first. I gained much less weight with my second baby, but she is now 6 months old and I still have the "bump" and excess weight so I am still hoping it will be less than a year to get back to normal :) Good luck.

I think you are expecting too much too soon, and not to worry.
