Hi P.- I would suggest Dr. Mary Beth Crane in Grapevine. She is amazing! I used to work for her and all her patients love her. She also has a partner Dr. Adrainna Karpati who is also wonderful. The are on Ira E. Woods (highway 26) in Grapevine. They are called North Texas Foot and Ankle Assoc. Good luck!!!!

I had double chevron bunion surgery performed by Dr. James Heerwagen, an orthopedic surgeon, in 1998 and the results were amazing! Since I had both feet operated on at the same time, it was slow getting around for a couple of weeks, but I recovered quickly and was able to get back to my normal active lifestyle (playing sports) within several months. Dr. Heerwagen has extraordinary people skills, on top of his surgical skills. I would highly recommend him. He works out of Lewisville. If you do a Google search on his name, you can find out other information about him. I had the surgery for pain management reasons, such as yourself, and not for cosmetic reasons. Many doctors will not perform this surgery for only cosmetic reasons. Good luck!

I very highly recommend Dr. Giacolone at FAANT.com. They are in Grapevine (I don't know where you live). She is a hands-on, caring doctor. She just did surgery on my foot and it's doing very well.
She also tskes care of my 92 year old mom.

It is very painful and unless you wanna be totally dependent upon others for a while i wouldnt recommend have them done at the same time.

See an orthopedic surgeon vs. a podiatrist is most important. I had both feet done by Christian Royer at Baylor (and he also offices at Medical City). It's a complex surgery and you will hear different approaches - I'd get 2-3 opinions and listen carefully to exactly what they propose and ask about the expected recovery. There is not a single, universal "bunion surgery" method. The recovery can be difficult so some doctors may suggest an approach to minimize the time off your feet. If you more than one Dr that says that'll work for your situation, great, but otherwise beware. And Royer will only do one foot at a time because it is impossible to totally off both feet for any amount of time (unless you want to use a bedpan!). Good luck.

I had my surgery last year with Dr. Robert Taylor of Stonebriar Foot and Ankle, phone number in Frisco is ###-###-####, and Plano is ###-###-####. I was very nervous, as my mom had a lot of pain with this surgery. I can honestly say I had almost none! I also had a hammertoe corrected as well as the bunionectomy. Of course, I had to wear the little boot and be careful, but all in all, it was much easier than I expected, and well worth it. I've had 2 friends who have gone to him since, and they also are doing great and had little pain. If you are considering this surgery, you need to call Dr. Taylor!

I know it is a long drive but he is a wonderful doctor. Dr. Singleton. He is on Hwy 377 in N. Richland Hills. He has done 2 surgeries on my feet, 5 on my moms and 2 on my dads. He is great and the staff is amazing too. I am thinking of having the same surgery and I will go to him for it also.

I used Dr. Rick Miller in Addison. His # is ###-###-####. He also has an office in Carrollton. He was fantastic and I have minimal hairline scarring. I've seen other people's feet after their surgery, and I am so grateful that I went to him, because you can hardly tell I've had surgery unless you look really close. I wear flip flops all of the time and no one can tell. He is the sweetest man and makes you feel so comfortable through the entire process.
