Bruise on Baby's Gums?

My 7 month old son has 3 teeth. The front two on bottom and on front top one. The second front top one is just about to break through. Right next to the one that is coming through he has a bruise on his gums. It is not where this tooth will break through, but seems to be one tooth over. Could another tooth be coming in there, and is the bruise something I should be worried about?

What can I do next?

Yes another tooth could be coming in around where the bruise is....it is called a hematoma and is nothing to worry about at all....sometimes blood can pool in the area where teeth are tying to come in....it will go away on it's own but you may not see a tooth for right away...I was in the dental field in pediatrics for 13 years before I chose to stay home with my daughter....I hope this helps...

This happened to my cousin's baby. It was a tooth trying to come through. The dr told her to massage the spot with a warm washcloth to help the tooth break through. It took a while though. It didn't seem to bother the baby though. You could always have the dr take a look if it would make you feel better.

I wouldn't worry about it. My son had the same thing when he had a tooth coming in. It went away once the tooth broke through. Good luck!

Do you have a family dentist? He can best answer your question. If you don't have a dentist, is there a community health care center in your community? They often have dentists who come in for one or two days a week. Someone who is not familiar with children's mouths is not qualified to give you advice.

Also, please check up on your grammar before you homeschool your children. Poor grammar will limit your children's choices in their future.
