So What Happened?

Well everyone it happened! I had my baby girl! I took the advice of one wonderful mother on this site and she suggested that i go to this particular restaurant on tujunga and moorpark in studio city called ciotote(i spelled that wrong), pronounced coyote...this restaurant has a salad called "the the salad", and it works! I ate the salad around 7:30 pm and by 3:45 am, i started having contractions and my water broke! Amazing! Any mom that wants to bring on labor, go get this salad!!!!!!!!! Who would have thought!(muah!)

drink red raspberry leaf tea or blue cohosh tea, rub your nipples and suck your thumb or a lollipop (pressure point in your mouth), keep walking... If you get overdue, acupuncture can really help.

Good luck!

Coyote cafe serves a labor inducing salad! Some say it works! Its in studio city on tujunga at moorpark (across from vitelos). Best of luck! I know you are uncomfortable at this stage but try to sleep all you can! While you can!

Hi H.,

I know how you feel. I was close to my due date by a few days and just wanted to hold my baby already! Some people were saying swimming and red wine would do it. I tried them all. I was desperate! Then someone told me about this place Caioti Pizza Cafe located in Studio City. They have this salad called "the maternity salad". Something in it is suppose to bring on labor. They have a wall of mom's that had the salad and went into labor. I was so desperate that I tried it and I went into labor the next day. It was only 1 or 2 days until my due date anyway so I don't know if it was the salad or just nature saying it was time but I just thought I would let you know about it. Good luck! http://www.caiotipizzacafe.com/

They are all correct. Stimulating your nipples causes your body to start the production of oxytocin - your body's natural form of pitocin. You can also try having sex. Sperm contains certain chemicals that can help induce labor.

try drinking chrysanthemum tea (available in asian markets and health food stores)...i didn't know about it until my 1st pregnancy...was drinking it like water in the summertime and it brought on contractions (which at the time was not a good thing though)...good luck!

Hi H.,

Take a couple of boxes of matches and throw them around on the floor. Then you need to pick one match at a time from the floor. It might be time consuming, but because you would be doing a lot of squats, it works.

Good Luck,
N.

i went to have acupuncture and massage from Dr. Berlin, berlin wellness in LA. The massage from dr. berlin is intense, it's supposed to loosen the muscles around the pelvis. Before that appt. I was hiking for about 6-8 miles every day, no contractions at all. Its great to mentally prepare you and i went into labor that night.

Good luck!

I recently had my baby - 1 week late. Straight up to 40 weeks I was feeling nothing at all - and walking like mad!

I started a chiropractic massage/acupuncture treatment at Berlin Chiropractic ###-###-#### -- www.DoctorBerlin.com). Within several days I was in labor. I don't know if it was just time or not, but, I was not at all dilated, then after a treatment it started. (plus the relaxation of it was amazing!). Have heard of several women who this has worked for.

Also, the day I went into labor I applied some nipple stimulation and a long walk as well as visualizations.

All the best to you.. it is a crazy journey you're about to start on! (my little girl is 5 weeks old today and it still is surreal)

Oh sweet Mother, I'm sure you are just ready for your baby to come out. But I'll tell you. It'll sound new agey and cooky but I think it's the best to just let go of control. Your baby is going to come out. Just talk to the baby. Say I'm ready for you. Start laughing and getting the last few details ready for your baby's arrival. And you'll see. You will be going into labor. Keep talking to your doctor. They will be watching you. Your baby knows when to come out. It's nice and warm in there. And safe. He/she will come out ready and happy to see you. Take it easy. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Look at all the beautiful things you have experience so far and then relish the excitement and joy to come. Hang in there! Get lots of hugs.....R.

Everyone is different, my son was about 11 days over due, I was walking a ton and in the last week up until the day I went in to labor, we did the zoo, Wild Animal Park, Legoland, seriously, my 2yo and I were all over the place! (-: We also did a few other things recommended by my doula. In the end, the little guy came when he wanted.

You aren't over-due. It is called an Estimated due date for a reason - just an estimate. Try has hard as it is to be patient and just relax. I know - easier said then done. My sister was due last week and still no baby so besides going through this myself, she is going through it too so it's fresh on my mind.

Congratulations!
M.

My husband is in the Marine Corps and was set to leave for Iraq on my youngest's due date. At about 36 weeks we started trying EVERYTHING to speed up the process (all the teas and herbal stuff, walking, walking on the beach, sex, nipple stimulationg, etc, etc.) We new she would be healthy because it was not too early. Nothing seemed to work and the doctor wouldn't induce until I was due. So, at 38 weeks I took some castor oil and mixed it in a strawberry milkshake. The stuff was horrible and the milkshake was the only was I could get it down. I drank it about 8pm and started having contractions at 1am. I went to the hospital at about 3am and it was a super speedy delivery. I will warn you though that if it does not work, as it did for me, you will more than likely have the worst diarrea. I had a friend try and it didn't work. I've heard it only works if the baby is ready to come. I just know that it certainly worked for us and actually made for a really quick labor and delivery as well. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

During both of my pregnancies my husband and I had sex against doctor's orders and it worked to bring on labor. I also drank raspberry tea and that is suppose to induce labor as well. I would also try keeping very busy...that helped me too.

Keep very busy. If possible, don't sit around and wait. What moved my labor along was staying very busy settling into a new place and eating Tacos for dinner with very hot sauce (lol). Baby born 4 hours after dinner (imagine that). I was close to a week overdue (4th baby).

I'm a labor and delivery nurse in LA. The very basic things that work are walking and sex. Also, nipple stimulation and patience. If you're still pregnant over 40 wks, consider induction or c/sect.
