Hello!

I just got suckered in to planning my future SIL's bridal shower and need some help pretty please...

If possible, I need catering or food ideas. I am still not familiar with the San Diego area, are there any good, inexpensive brunch-type restaurants that would be a good place to have a bridal shower? It will be fairly intimate, maybe 15-20 ladies.

Game ideas would be great too!

Thanks!!

-Char

I would actually rope everyone on the invite list in to help plan it. Hurray for email!!!

CC everybody (except the bride) and start an open conversation about ideas, plans, games, loves, hates, restaurants/bars/catering/potluck, surprise v no surprise, etc. As long as you make sure you let everyone know that you'll be making all the arrangements/doing all the work it'll take 5 minutes of their time and will be tailored to the people coming! MAKE SURE in the instructions in the beginning to tell everyone to "reply all". This keeps everyone up to date and they can only blame themselves. Hehehe. Plus you've just been excused of all the stress. Make it witty & funny and you're sure to get a ton of responses.

Good Luck!

fun game--How well to the bride and groom know each other?
-make up a list of 10-20 Q's
-in advance, ask the groom and record the answers (video, audio, or paper); he must swear to secrecy and you both must keep the responses secret
-at the party, ask the bride to answer the same Q's, have guests write down if they think the bride's A will match the groom's A (mark "yes" or "no")
-reveal the groom's answer
-if the bride and groom's responses were a match, "Yes" is the winning answer; if the were not a match then "no" is the correct answer. Guest with most correct answers wins.
Example Q's: Where did you go for your first date? How many kids does ___ want? What color is her favorite bra? What is __'s favorite sport/hobby?

Food: most chain restaurants will give you a limited menu and a private room to host your party. If you are going to host it at home and want to do brunch: basil & spinach quiche, spinach salad, fruit salad or sliced fruit, croissants & mimosas or sparkling punch.

Games: toilet paper wedding dress?
