Bridal Shower Games

One I went to recently had the "toilet paper bridal gown game": they divided people into equal groups, gave them each a few rolls of toilet paper to create a "gown" (one if the members was the "model"). Was really cute.

A fun and cheap one is played w/ close pins...every one at the shower gets a close pin when they arrive. Then any time they say Married or the husband name or whatever word you decide and someone cathes them saying it that person gets their clothes pin. At the end whoever has the most wins! Super fun!

My name is Angela and I am also a business owner,so we do have something in common. Also, I am responsing to your request because I just threw a bridal shower for my sister in law on Sunday. THe three games that were a big sucess was the purse game, the toliet paper bridal gown and the how well do you know the bride. These games were fun, however, it didn't take to much time.

At my bridal shower, I was given a new apron. Then the ladies took me to the kitchen and told me to bake a cake. They had all the ingredients there, but no recipe!! It was really fun, and the cake actually turned out OK. They all had to eat it afterwards :)
Depending on the personality of the bride, this could be fun, or she may be too embarrassed.

We have a few we like to use. The first one is you give the bride a tray full of things. You can fill it with anything she would need. I will usually put kitchen things (utensils, hot pads, table cloth, ect)on it. You then have HER walk around the room with it showing everything on it. You want to make sure there are 10 - 20 items. After everyone has seen the tray, she leaves the room with it. She remains out of the room. NOW, you ask questions about her. How many rings? What color shirt? Slacks or skirt? Hair up or down? ect...

The tray throws everyone off as they think you are going to ask them to remember what is on the tray. If she is still in need of these items, I usually gift them to her (I buy new ones hehe) after the game.

You could even use them for a second game or get bathroom necessities for this one. Have everyone try to guess the price of each item. Closest to what was paid wins.

Another fun one - usually a door prize one. Buy little bells, attach ribbon and a saftey pin. Each person gets a pin. If you catch someone crossing their legs - you steal their bell. Person with the most bells at the end wins the door prize.
(They are allowed to cross their ankles - just not their legs!)

My daughter-in-law had each of her guests team up in 2's and gave each team a roll of toilet paper. We had to make a wedding gown w/veil out of the roll, then we had to give a description of the gown we created and the future bride had to choose the winner it was fun.

One of my favorite shower games is the 'white wedding' game, you place several white common household substances into numbered baggies and give everyone a numbered sheet to write down their guesses. you can get pretty creative and it's really hard to guess (don't let them smell them!) i've used flour, sugar, cleanser, laundry detergent, baby powder, cornstarch, powdered sugar, salt, etc. good luck!

Hi M., I plan and hold bridal showers though my Pampered Chef business, and these games have been such a success!
The Teddy Game - winner has to try on the Teddy -
( Basically it is like musical chairs you can pass a gift box with the "teddy" in it, or walk around the chairs, I find it easier to toss or pass the package around, when the music stops,
the person holding the package (or who is left standing) is out.
The last person is the winner, and must try on the teddy. You take the person out of the room and show them where they can try on the "teddy" and then have them come out to model it. The catch is the actual "teddy" is a teddy bear.
Another is the Fruits and Veggie letter, which you should be able to find online, it is a love letter for the guest to fill in - all of my guest loved this one too. (If you can't find this I can email you a copy) The 3rd game is the Spice game, take a few jars of spices, place a cover of the spice jar so you can't see the label. Number each spice and have the guest are to guess what each spice is.
Also buy recipe cards, and have each guest write there favorite recipe on the cards to give to the new bride.
One last game also is take a apron, and sew about 10 small tools, veggie peeler, twix it clip, measuring spoons, bamboo spoon and (don't forget the recipe book in the pocket if there is one) and have the bride wear this apron through out the game and about a half hour later have the bride take the apron off, then tell the guest to see how they're memories are and to write down every item that was on the brides apron.

You can take some helpful house hold items, spatulas, measuring cups, pot holders, serving spoons. Place them in a dish strainer and have the guests look for 2 minutes and write down as many items as they can remember, the bride gets to keep all the items and the other winner would get something else.

One thing that we do that is VERY helpful to the bride is we purchase the Thank You notes. Then we have everyone present put their name and address on it so it's already filled out for the bride. Periodically throughout the shower we have the bride pull one envelope out of a basket and that person receives a little gift. At the end the bride recieves the envelopes and thank you cards to use.

If you haven't sent out the invitations, you could insert 2 blank recipe cards into the invitation. Have each person write down their favorate recipe or fav. American recipe and then bring it to the shower. Collect all of the cards and put it into a photo album (recipe book) for the bride to use. She'll remember the shower and her friends every time she uses a recipe.

A fun and interacting game I've done at showers is make a small booklet of about 5 or 6 pages. On each page write something like "Jane and John married on April 1, 2007. Pass this book to the person who has the closest birthday to that date." then that person flips the page and reads it. Page 2 may say "Jan wore a flower in her hair on her wedding day. Pass this book to the person that has something in her hair." and so on. The last page you say something like. "Congratulations you just won the centerpiece on your table" or whatever the prize might be. I got a lot of positive feedback on this game and it gets everyone at the table talking. Good luck!

You could mix up letters and see who could make the most words out of them. If family or friends know her husband well you could see how well she knows him.Congratulations on your next arrival.

A fun one we played at my cousins bridal shower was a questionnaire game. There was a list of questions that the hostess had asked the groom about the bride. they varied from "what kind of underwear does she wear....thongs, granny panties, etc.?" to "What was the first movie you saw together?" the bride didn't know that the hostess had even talked to the groom. The bride had to answer the questions herself, out loud at the shower, to see how many the groom got right. The guests had to predict how many of the questions the groom would get right before the bride answered them. The closest estimator won a prize.I thought it was fun and I learned some new things about my cousin.

I've also seen them hand out a bingo sheet to fill in. People had to fill in all the boxes with the names of the gifts they think she would be receiving at the shower. Then they could put a bingo chip on the square if she got that for a gift. If there was no bingo, just whoever had the most right.

They also did the "Guess the spice game" by look and smell. It is really hard.

A really fun and easy game to play is: Who has the heaviest purse. Just bring a bathroom scale to the shower and ask people who have brought a purse to weigh in. Who ever has the heaviest purse wins. My mother almost always wins. Lord knows what that woman needs to carry! :o) Good Luck! Have Fun!
