T.S.
If you do not want to get pregnant you use birth control. Every time.
And what does "tested weakly pregnant twice" even mean?
My daughter is just four months and I have been tested weakly pregnant twice. I'm still breastfeeding and I have also not started seeing my monthly flow. What do I do?
If you do not want to get pregnant you use birth control. Every time.
And what does "tested weakly pregnant twice" even mean?
Sounds like you are going to have "irish twins". My good friend got pregnant again when her first baby was 3 months old. She was in shock! Her boys are best buddies. They were like bear cubs when they were little...wrestling and playing together all the time. Congratulations.
Make an OB appointment?
You go to the doctor and see if you are pregnant. Breastfeeding is NOT birthcontrol.
L.
You might not get your period when breastfeeding.
When you say, "I have been tested weakly pregnant twice," do you mean that two times you took a pregnancy test and both were positive, though the line was faint?
I was always told that a faint positive is still a positive and that it means you have the pregnancy hormone (HCG?) but it's not very high yet.
In other words, I was always told in means you are pregnant. It's my understanding that false positives are extremely rare.
If I understand you correctly, you should contact your OB and tell him/her what is going on.
Whether my understanding is correct or not, the fact that you haven't yet had a period is not unusual, breastfeeding or not. Your body has gone through a lot. It is normal to take a few months before your period returns.
There is no reason to stop breastfeeding because you are pregnant. Now, as far as the pregnancy: you should visit your doctor and get a definite answer. Then you can choose how to handle it.
It is definitely possible to get pregnant before you have a period. The reason is that you will ovulate before a period and that ovulation could result in a pregnancy. Thus you are pregnant again and have not had a period.
Welcome to mamapedia!!
Congratulations on your new baby girl!
If you are having unprotected sex, you might be pregnant.
Go to your OB/GYN and get a blood test done. Have you not gone in to your OB/GYN since giving birth?
Don't believe the old myth that you can't get pregnant while breast feeding. You can.
Typically a mom does not have a period while breastfeeding. She will however ovulate.
1-go see the OBGYN. Get a blood test to know for sure, though it is extremely rare to get a false positive IF you take the test correctly.
2-definitely keep nursing. I have known people with children close together who nursed both the newborn and the older baby. Google 'tandem nursing' for more info there.
3-if you are NOT pregnant, get on the mini-pill or buy a box of condoms.
4-it is completely normal to not have a period while nursing. Mine took 4 months to come back, but I know several mothers (lucky b****es, lol) who didn't get a period until after their kids weaned... One even went to 3 years!
If you're having sex without using protection then it's likely you're pregnant. Go to the local health department and they can give you a pregnancy test for free.
If you're pregnant you have choices but there are lots and lots of babies born 10 months apart.
If you're testing pregnant, you're pregnant.
Contact your OB/Gyn to confirm. You can keep breastfeeding - you'll just need to make sure you're getting enough calories/nutrition for all of you.
If your pregnancy test came back "faint" positive, you're pregnant.
Go to your OB/GYN and get a blood test done.
Are you asking if you can still breast feed if you are pregnant? If so, the answer is yes. Your OB/GYN will tell you when you need to wean as later in your pregnancy, it might cause contractions.
You can keep nursing her. Many women successfully tandem nurse two children or nurse through a pregnancy. Please look at kellymom.com for information.
Make an appointment with your OB/GYN!
My sister in law got pregnant within a month or two of having my nephew. She never had her period either and my doctor always asked if I wanted to wait before having another and prescribed me the mini pill. So it sounds like a call to your OB is in order along with saying hello to a new sister/brother for your daughter.
Hi, Victoria:
Wait! Enjoy your 4 month old. Don't worry too. If you are, you are pregnant. You are a woman. That's what happens.
