I absolutely love my breast pump. It is a medela. It's a bit of an investment, but mine has lasted through 3 kids! They also have great customer service, mine seemed to have lost some pump force and they walked me through cleaning it so it was like new!

I have the medula pump and style and it was outragous in price but worth every penny because it was the only thing that saved me when my milk supply started to decrease. It was so helpful and it is double sided so twice the milk twice as fast. There are places you can rent them to I think. Good Luck.

Try Best Fed. You can rental a very high quality pump for a good price. I really don't think any of the one's you can buy in the stores are strong enough.

My son was born premature and for about 2 months, I rented a hospital grade one from the hospital. It was a Medela and cost $50 a month to rent. It worked wonders, but when I realized that my son wasn't going to breastfeed like I wanted, I decided to invest in my own since I still wanted him on breastmilk. I bought the Medela Pump in Style. It was nearly as good as the hospial grade one. I exclusively pumped until my son was nearly 6 months old. I thought it was completely worth the investment!

I gave birth 10 weeks ago and have been using the Medela Original double pump. It has worked great and when I was researching which pump to buy, this is the one everyone recommended. Target sells them for around $225 (I think)but if you go online (Ebay or one of the comparrison sights) you can get them for less. Good luck.

I have had good luck with the Ameda Double Breast Pump. I bought it at a breast feeding store when I had my son 4 years ago, used it with my daughter and then loaned it twice to friends. I was still able to sell it on ebay for $50 just recently. It is not cheap, about $180 back then, but well worth it. I NEVER had any trouble with it and always pumped both side in less than 15 minutes

Hope that helps!

I have to completly agree that I LOVED My medela pump in style advanced. It was great. It is generally more money, but you get what you pay for. You can find them on Craigslist. Then just buy yourself new parts. They say you shouldn't get used ones, but I did and just bought new tubing and my own parts. Was way LESS money and I had a wonderful experience with it. I had to use mine non stop becasue I was one of the lucky ones...and over producer. Plus I am a working mom, so I had to pump during the day. Good Luck!

Oh I also know a few places where you can rent the pump. If you want that info let me know.

Good LucK!

The best Breast pump that you can get is Hospital grade. I've used the store bought kind before as well and there is a huge difference. Scottsdale Healthcare's Lactation dept rents them out thru the Spa for $30 a month and it's well worth it. This is definitely one of those times where its better to rent vs own :) Good luck!!

hi, K.!

how are you doing? i just wanted to write and let you know that i LOVE my pump (although i hate pumping!). i have medela pump in style advanced...has a special program to mimic what is required for let down so that the pumping is a little faster. while i was working, i was using the pump every 3 hours and found it to be quite worth the hefty price tag. i highly recommend it!

I bought a Medela pump in Style 3 years ago. It was a little pricey - I think $300. But it was the best investment I ever made. It's electronic and a dual pump. The pump its self is in a black leather case (that does not come off)so its not obvious what it is. I took it it to work everyday for 2 months. I used it for both my boys.

I have a medela pump. It's been great. The lactation consultant I saw told me that you want to get one of the more expensive ones, something hospital grade. Especially if you plan to have more than one child. You could contact Best Fed. They sell several different kinds and they might be able to give you some advice.

When my daughter was just a few days old my breasts were so engorged it hurt to walk. My mom purchased a manual breast pump made by Avent. It cost a little more but wow did it work for me. Hope this helps.

Best Fed off of 51st ave and T-Bird. I rented one for 4 months (much cheaper than buying) and I only needed it for 3 months. They reimbursed me for the month I didn't use. Very helpful and knowledgeable there too.
