Breast Issue

I have a mass that just showed up in my breast. I noticed it two days ago. It is kinda sore and it is a big mass that is more dense than regular breast tissue, but isn't nearly as hard as a rock. It takes up about 1/4 of my DD breast. I looked up breast cancer and it does not sound like it at all. The size is too big too quickly (I check my breasts often-even more so my husband does, lol), and it is moveable and it doesn't seem as hard as a cancer lump would get-by what I've read. SO, any body else experienced this? I may be getting my period soon... is it menstrual cycle related? I know y'all aren't doctors but just wondering if the same thing has happened to you. Thanks... BTW, I'm 30.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I drink a maximum of 1 cup a day. Also, it isn't a cyst. I'm familiar with cysts. It is much softer- just more firm than regular breast tissue. Thank so far...

Thanks all, again. I talked to Doctor- they suggest to come in after my period (got it today) to see if it is still there because they said it sounds exactly like I have fibrocystic breasts, and in that case, you wait until after your period to see if the "lump" is still there. My mass, or lump is already decreasing. Also, not that I'm "hoping" but the description I was told by doctor -and then did research and found the same thing- describes what is going on with me exactly. For anyone else that may have felt this or are wondering what a fibrocystic breast is:

I appreciate everyone's concern and will most certainly be seen if this persists or otherwise may suggest it is something else. Thanks!

It sounds like a cyst to me, and you should see your doctor right away. They may be able to drain it. You don't want it to continue to increase in size because it will become more painful. (They will also make sure it is nothing more serious, which is also important)

Please see a doctor right away. Not to scare you, but there is a somewhat rare subtype of BC called triple negative BC (because it lacks all hormone receptors). It grows VERY fast and is more common among younger, pre-menopausal women. I know about this from personal experience -- I grew a 3.5 cm triple negative tumor that had begun to spread to my lymph nodes during the year between mammos. That said, most of the time these lumps are benign... but it's best to have it checked by a doctor. If it is cancer, the earlier you get treatment, the better your chances of survival. Andi if it's nothing, you have peace of mind.

Regardless of the texture of a lump you should always see your doctor immediately after finding a mass in your breast. A mammogram will probably be advised by your doctor. It is more than likely a benign breast lump but see a professional.
There are several common causes of benign breast lumps, including normal changes in breast tissue, breast infection or injury, and medicines that may cause lumps or breast pain.
Breast tissue changes during a woman's entire life. It is particularly sensitive to changing estrogen and progesterone hormone levels during the menstrual cycle.

Look up Fibroadenomas, Fibrocystic changes and simple cysts.
