Bottles W/out BPA

My son has been using the Dr. Browns bottles and they have worked well for him. However, with the BPA scare I am changing but all the new glass Dr Brown bottles have been out. I am also concerned about using bottles since he has a tendency to drop them quite often

Has anyone purchased new bottles w/out BPA that also fit with Dr. Brown vent/nipple.

Is anyone getting new bottles or sippy cups because of this scare?

Would love to get feedback on how many moms are going to change bottles because of this and which bottles you are switching to

I purchased the evenflo ones today (w/out BPA) and hopefully they will be OK but open to other suggestions

What can I do next?

A GREAT BPA free brand is the "MAM" brand. You can get it on Amazon. Here is the link:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/103-###-###-####-###...

I LOVE these bottles, my son loves it, and it has great reviews!

I have switched out all my sippy cups too, to the "sigg" brand, which can also be found at Amazon.

The MAM bottle accumulate no gas/air bubbles in it as they drink, no gas problems in baby either.

Good luck,

Hi T.,

Nuby has the best bottles all without the BPA. ANd they fit Dr. Brown's standard nipples. What you want to look for with bottles is that they are the soft plastic. Nuby also sells sippy cups too and the best part is they are cheap!! You can get them at Babies R Us. Born Free also sells all BPA products and you can order them on line or at Whole Foods, but very expensive. I have used the Nuby's and they are great. They are small and lightweight.

They is so much hype about it out there right now. I am still using my Avent bottles...I did just see this on Nightline the other day, they tested how much BPA is in bottles etc, and the highest amount was in plastic water bottles (including the 5 gallon arrowhead ones) and the 2nd highest was in the cans of "things" (green beans, corn, beans, tomatoes sauce etc) I can't remember off hand what the other ones were, but baby bottles were number 4 on the list. I didn't want to spend the money buying new bottles, when 6 mos. from now they will tell me somthing is in the other ones that is just as bad. So much stuff out there. For me, they say bleach, dish soap and windex have all been proved to cause cancer. I like my whites white, and my dishes clean, and my windows streak free. They tested a completely "green family" in comparrison to a not green family, and the green family had just as many chemicals inside of them as the not green family on the same show. It was scary, I thought forsure the green family would be so much better. Good luck in your decision!

T.,

I found Evenflo bottles at Target that are BPA free. They are cheap...$3 for three bottles. I, of course, was skeptical about this because the tendency is to think that you get what you pay for (ala Dr. Browns), but they turned out to be great bottles! When my mom saw them she said that they look like the bottles that were on the market when I was little. I know there are also other brands, but this was a new one to me so I thought I'd share with you. Also, I was concerned about gas with my son, but they seem to do just fine. Good luck to you!

Hi! I have been reading a lot about this and decided 'better safe than sorry' so I got rid of my Avent bottles and bought the MAM ultivent bottles from Target.com. I ordered a born free sippy cup and bought some teethers that are BPA free. I'm not sure if the MAM bottles work with the Dr. Browns but my son really liked them. :)

Hello,

I just wanted to say that I read a blurb that Avent is launching BPA free bottles this summer. http://safemama.com/tag/bpa-free-bottles/
This same site has a list of BOA free bottles, sippy cups and storage bags. Hope it helps.
