I love to read. I have finished the Hunger Games Trilogy in a week. I just finished all three Fifty Shades book in a week.... I have read most of Jodi Piccoult, Greg Isles, James Patterson .... Anyone have any good series or authors that they can suggest. I would realy like something that has several books to the series. Something that will keep me busy for more than a week.

I remember, when I was younger and had the love of reading, that the "Flowers in the Attic" series was good. I think the author was VC Andrews.

Try the Percy Jackson series. There are I think 7 books in that series and The Lost Hero series is a continuation of Percy Jackson and only the first 2 books are out so far with the 3rd to come in October i believe. I LOVE THEM cant put the down and have read each one at least twice.

Lol-you sound a little like me. I loved the Hunger Games and read them really fast too. I am on the last book for Fifty Shades now. My friend is a librarian and she is recommending a book called Shiver by Maggie Stievater-something like that. I believe it is a trilogy too so it may only be a week for you. If you like the supernatural-Charlaine Harris is very good. She is the writer for which they base the HBO show True Blood on and she also writes some mysteries-the Aurora Teagarden series.
We just saw the movie We bought a zoo and that was based on a book. I was thinking about reading that one. Otherwise, there is the other HBO series-Game of Thorns. I know that is a series too and looks pretty good.

Let me know if you run out and I can text my librarian friend for you :)

Oh and I agree with KP that I think the Percy Jackson books could be really good. I had no idea there were that many-may have to read them myself.

Wow to GrandmaT for a flasback on the Flowers in the Attic series.

The early books in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich made me laugh out loud. The newer ones not so much and I don't care for her other series.

The other authors that I like that have series are: Lisa Scottoline, Michael Connelly, Jeffrey Deaver, Harlan Coben and John Sandford.

I've recently started reading books by Nevada Barr. She used to be a national park ranger and her main character is a park ranger, so the series is set in different national parks. I enjoy learning a little bit about the parks while I'm reading them.

Try the Game of Thrones series. There are 5 books, each nearly 1000 pages. That should keep you busy for awhile. And they're really good!

Hi! The big read in our house is a series from Christopher Paolini, beginning with Eragon. There are 4 huge books in all, so it's a good thing you have a Kindle! Happy reading!

The Charlaine Harris "Sookie Stackhouse" series is awesome! It's the book series that the show True blood is based off of, but the show is WAY different than the books. (the books are way better) I just read the latest book which was released this month. They are so great. There are 12 total now. I preorder them so I get them as soon as they are released. It's my only real vice. LOL! The only "problem" is that each book ony takes me a couple days to read since I love them so much. (and I can't read too long since I have other things to do, or I would finish in a day) I like most of the other suggestions too.
One last suggestion.. I read a series of books that my daughter had and actually enjoyed it a lot. If you liked the HUnger Games you may like it. There are 5 or 6 books I think. It's the Maximum Ride series. Oh wait, maybe you have read that already. Oops! Oh well. Happy reading!

Try 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. Its about 920 pages. I haven't finished it yet. Also, Peony in Love by Lisa See. She has others that I heard are good but haven't read them. Another is Miss Peregrine's Home for Pecular Children by Random Riggs, Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett (this one is old so you probably read it) but the sequel just came out last year. Also, I thought The Stand by Stephen King was the best book I ever read. Hope this helps.

Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Prepare to be sucked in for the whole summer. You will not regret a moment spent with Jamie Fraser :D Definitely start with the first one. Also her John Grey stories.
Terry Pratchett.
Neil Gaimon
Robert Rankin (I warn you, you will get hooked by the different stories with repeating characters and places)
Any of the classics like Jane Eyre, Rebecca, Wuthering Heights, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, etc...anything by Maya Angelou, Herman Hesse, Steinbeck, Pearl Buck, or Tom Robbins.

eta
I really enjoyed the Harry Potter books on cd.

If you liked the 50 Shades series, which clearly you did if you read all 3 in a week, I'd try the Scanguards Vampire series by Tina Folsom. I, too read all 3 50 books in about a week & a half, then googled "what to read after the 50 Shades books" & came up with a list. After reading a bunch of reviews & getting through a few really rough books, I came across this series. I think right now there are 6 books in the series. I'm about 2/3 through the first one & really like it. It's not too hardcore as some of the other books I tried, but if you're not into the whole Vampire thing, you might want to skip it (although these guys don't glitter in the sunlight or anything like that, lol).

ETA--I did read all of the Hunger Games series, Harry Potter series, the Percy Jackson series, several of the Charlene Harris books, & The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series. Those are all good suggestions as well.

Google the high school reading lest and catch up on classics that you may want to review or read those that you someone missed. That is what I am trying to do. It makes for a great foundation and conversation.

Modern fiction is just a time waster to me.

I love Tom Clancy and Michael Crichton. Most of Michael Crichton's books are stand alone, but they are really good. Janet Evanovich's books are quick, funny reads. Dean Koontz's books are really good, too.

I'm reading Fifty Shades now :) But when I'm done I think I'm going to read the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series (haven't seen the movies yet, I'm waiting to read the book first). I also have the new 11/22/63 by Stephen King - a single book, but a committment at almost 1000 pages. I'm also considering the Game of Thrones series. Happy reading!
