My son who is almost 11 recently read, Island of the Blue Dolphins and The Little Prince.. He really enjoyed both..
I am looking for books for 10-11 age range. I know what my son (8) is into, but I am not sure about a little older. My son likes Diary of a Whimpy Kid and Harry Potter Series. What are 10 year old boys reading?

If he liked Harry Potter, he should enjoy the Rick Riorden books (Percy Jackson et al) or the Ranger Apprentice series. I have not read the 39 Clues series but I have heard good thing about it. Lemmony Snicket is still popular with that age group. Also, if he is an avid reader he might enjoy The Hobbit.
4th - 5th grade boys in the library I volunteer love the books by the author Margaret Haddix - they're sort of a sci-fi type book. Also Gary Paulson or James Paterson (Maximum Ride Series). If they're into sports (like my son) then try Dan Gutman or books by Tiki & Ronde Barber.
That depends a LOT on the boy. I don't have a boy but I do volunteer at the school library and this is what fourth and fifth grade boys tend to check out:
LOTS of nonfiction books full of facts. Find something that interests him (machines, space, sports, nature, whatever) and go crazy with nonfiction books. Almanacs of facts are great too. Studies of kids' reading have shown that boys this age are often not that into fictional stories with a lot of relationships and emotion but they often just adore nonfiction on topics that interest them. I see boys checking out books on World War II, the military, mechanics and engineering, etc. (We're talking about age-appropriate school library books here, by the way.)
Series boys seem to like: Charlie Bone (similar to Harry Potter, not as complex or deep); that series by Lemony Snicket, can't recall the title; The Mysterious Benedict Society series (fun, with quirky heroes).
Authors -- Dan Gutman; Andrew Clements (school-based stories, excellent, but not for your son if he doesn't want realistic fiction); Louis Sachar's books (I would start with his Wayside School short story collections--very funny); and of course anything by Rick Riordan -- has your son tried Riordan's Percy Jackson series or its follow-up, the Heroes of Olympus series? Kids love both those series and tend to re-read them.
Our son likes the 59 clues books, Cowboy Sam books and The Magic Tree House books. But he's 7 reading at a higher level. hth
I'd recommend the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan if he likes the Harry Potter series. My husband and I enjoyed them and they are perfect for boys that age.
My son (almost 11) loves The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins; the Ranger's Apprentice series; and the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull, among other things. He likes a lot of other books that may not exactly be on a list of what other kids are reading, but some of them are worth recommending. If your son enjoys science, for example, there's a great book called The Way Things Work by David Macaulay which has excellent illustrations and explanations for electricity, simple machines, airplanes/flight, etc. (it's done in a fun way, though, not super serious although it's still surprisingly detailed). The same author did a series of books about structures such as pyramids and castles which might be appealing to a boy that age if he enjoys drawing sand building.
