if it's not bothering him - I wouldn't worry about it...I'd still get it checked out but wouldn't stress over it..
I noticed a while back that my son has a black speck in the white part of his eye. It looks like a small speck of dirt or ink or something but it's been there for as long as I can remember so I know its not a foreign object. I'm going to make an appt with the dr to get it looked at but do you know if this is something I should be worried about? Does anyone have an experience with this? Thanks!

Take him to an Ophthalmologist.
That is an eye doctor.
Could be an eye freckle. My son has one and he had it photographed by the doctor to have a benchmark picture of it-their is the slightest chance they could become malignant just like a regular freckle. By having a pic you can see if there are changes to it.
I have one as well. Freaked me out when I first noticed it. Turns out it is a vein that brings blood to the eye and it is actually not that uncommon.
You should take him to the Ophthalmologist just so they can monitor it however, my father was born with it and he calls it an eye mole, it does not effect his vision and just adds to his character. It should be monitored though to insure it does not grow.
Could be a freckle... like Cheryl said, mention it to the doc, but don't worry until you know something :)
was he born with it? some people are.
