We've had my daughters last few parties at Chuck E Cheese's and I'm really tiring of that. Place to host my daughters 5th birthday party for between 3-5 children. Most of these jump zones are like $250 which I think is outrageous! Please help!!

What can I do next?

Last year we had my daughter's 5th bday at Creative Hands near Park Row and Bowen. They have a website also. It was a Painting party, they have a party room, all the kids get to pick something to paint, and while its drying, you do cake, or presents. The boys came were 3-6 and they also had fun painting snoopy dogs, cars, trains, and the girls painted hearts and animals. There was lots to choose from. It was really one of the chepaer parties we had. I went to Michael's and got a clear paint can and it had circles on it and put a surprise for my daughter and they got birthday balloons from dollar store and that was the table decorations. She loved it. Made a cake shaped like a paint palate with all the colors and paint brush. It was so much fun.

There's a place on Little Rd at I-20 in the shopping center that does princess tea parties. I don't really know the details though, so I'm not sure how much it costs. Good luck!

Just an idea:
If you rent a local rec room or something like that, I come to your location and do "Build-a-Bear" type parties on site. My prices are either $16 or $18 per child and the nice thing is that it is your "entertainment", as well as, a hands-on activity (keeping the kids busy and engaged), and it is also your great take home gift, as well.
The average workshops takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
Thank you for your consideration,
R.

If it's for 3-5 children, consider doing the party wherever you want, but not making plans with the place for a party. For instance, if you went to jump zone and paid for each of the 5 children to get in, you'd be spending a lot less that $250. Then, maybe you can bring all the kids back to the house for cake and ice cream, or maybe get creative with the cake...make 5 mini cakes, or put an individual cupcake in a tupperware that the kids can take home. Or, head someplace close for lunch afterwards like if there is a McDonald's, you could then pay for each child's happy meal, they can eat and play in the play place, then eat cake and ice cream there and you will still spend less than $250!

We had a princess tea party at Pirate Coffee in Mansfield on Main Street. last year. It was so much fun. The kids came dressed up in a princess gown (some even their pj gowns from Disney.com), the Birthday Princess got to pick the flavor of their drink (we chose strawberry-lemonade), and the girls got to decorate their own cupcakes. They all get a boa and a tiara to wear and take home. You can add finger sandwiches of your choice too. The cost is so reasonable. We are thinking of doing it again because they had so much fun. You can have a nice party without breaking the bank.

Lauren V. mentioned the Princess party off I-20 & Little. It's called Chelsea's Tea Room. http://www.chelseas.org/.

There's also Alley Cats off Pleasant Ridge. You could do a bowling party and they give each kid $5 in games.

Many churches will rent a room and allow you access to their playgrounds.

The city of Arlington does a bunch of themed parties at the different rec centers. There's a Princess theme, along with Rock Climbing, Sports, Discovery Scavenger Hunt, etc.

If it's warm out, get a picnic table at a local park, create some games and have a barbecue.

The YMCA on South Cooper will do swim parties.

Hope those ideas help!
